Expected Oakley Quality

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

At first I was worried that the lack of unobtainium grippers on the temples would be an issue with stability, but after a couple hundred miles of rides in hot and sweaty conditions, I can say these haven’t budged! In fairness, I have worn these under the helmet straps vs. over like I do with other sunglasses, but I’m confident that isn’t a requirement. The lens quality and visual acuity, as with any other Oakley sunglasses I’ve ever owned is second to none. The lenses do a terrific job of cutting down on light and glare, while making sure the things I want to see absolutely POP. For context, I ordered the pair with the Prizm Road lenses for…yeah…road riding. Additionally, these are very large, which in my mind is a great thing. I have great protection from wind and debris, there is zero interruption to my peripheral vision. Other frames (I’m looking at you, Jawbreakers) have frame elements that get in the way and can make it challenging to see, particularly if you’re taking a quick glance over your shoulder. That is absolutely not the case here. The one complaint I have is that for some reason I have had far more sweat pool and collect on the inside of the lenses to the Sutros than any other pair of sunglasses I have, regardless of brand. I can’t tell if this is because of how close they sit to my face, shape of the lens, or perhaps the lack of vents. In any case, I have to consciously avoid having my head tilted down too far lest I get so much sweat on my glasses that I can’t see.

Love these glasses

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have a pretty wide face and the fit of these is great. Coverage on face means you see no edges and forget you have them on.

Run/Bike Go-to!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I'd been in the market for some running and biking glasses and came across the Sutros. I was a little bit hesitant at first because they seemed like they might fog up in certain conditions, but up to this point I haven't had any issues. They came in a high-quality hard case, with a microfiber bag as well, which is nice for when I need to chuck them in my bag for travel! I've put in a bunch of miles running in them and haven't had any issues with them. They don't bounce or slide off of my face like some of my other glasses would while running or Mountain Biking. They also fit really great with my Bike helmet, which is a plus! The Prizm Trail lens does a great job of providing contrast and keeping my eyes from straining. As long as they fit well with your helmet, I'd highly recommend these for running and/or biking! The lens is pretty large, so if you have a smaller face or prefer smaller lenses then I'd look into the Sutro S!

Great to see a USA Olympic version. I was a bit concerned not having vents would make them fog on rides. No issues after a few rides.

Couldn't ask for better Shades

This glasses are perfect. I wear for cycling and running. Having the Oakley Prizm technology not only helps me see well in sunny Colorado, but as a road cyclist the reflective lens lets drivers see me a little better and that is always worth it. Oakley's always have a perfect mix of comfort and security on my pretty average round head. These have quickly become my go to for all things outdoors. Plus I think I look really good wearing them.

The best of it kind! Great for cycling

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Bought these for road cycling, to add some style, and end up wearing all the time. The over-sized lens is covers the whole eyes area completely with clear visibility. The Prizim lens are my fav. from Oakley.

I?d love these for cycling/ hiking

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

They?re great but I had to return them because apparently I?m allergic to the unobtanium nose piece. The lenses are amazing for the record.

Vents are a bad idea

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Bought the vented sutros and love the size, look and coverage for cycling and trail running. Unfortunately, the vents are directly in your line of sight when riding (especially climbing) really distorting my vision. Will keep for running and Nordic skiing but they get ???? For cycling.
