Problem solver.

Sometimes you encounter a product so ingenious you can't but help stare at it in silence for a few moments while your brain goes, "!!!!!" One such item is the Nite Ize 24-inch Gear Tie Dockable Twist Tie. It's little more than a steroidal version of the twist tie you took off the bread bag this morning, and that's the genius of it. More specifically, it's a 24-inch pliable wire coated in tough, grippy rubber, so it can wrap around anything and hold it almost anywhere. You can even buy the Nite Ize mountable Dock — or 10 of them — and create a storage wall for just about anything you can't or don't want to try storing on shelves. Able to suspend 25lb, but weighing only 46 grams itself, the 24-inch Nite Ize Gear Tie is perfect for work, travel, storage, or maybe just life in general.

Front wheel stabilizer

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

this nite ize company quietly makes some useful stuff... When carpooling for destination rides, sometimes my bike ends up on a rack with the front wheel flopping around or the bike in general with undesirable movement and banging. I keep a couple of these in my gear bag for those situations--like a giant foam covered twist tie type thing. I now keep one next to my bike repair stand to prevent unwanted front wheel spin or handlebar movement while wrenching. I've not mounted the hanger thing but if I break down and buy more, I think it will work great for getting spare wheelsets off the floor.

Twist Tie for gear!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These things are genius! I don't know why no one thought of this before. Nite Ize really knocked it out of the park with these. The strength and versatility that the Gear Ties offer is incredible. The longer ones are definitely strong enough to hold a bicycle (I've done it). Smaller ones are great for organizing cords and whatnot. Latching things closed. Holding things together.

The rubber exterior ensures no damage to whatever your twisting as well as providing grip so that the tie doesn't slip off.

Once you twist them up once they will never be straight again so don't expect that. Not a big deal though, you're just going to twist them up again!

Worth every penny.
