Power in motion.

Louis Garneau's Neo Power Motion 7 Shorts combine the compressive benefits of the Power+ material's high Lycra content and the secure fit of a Power Mesh waistband in a newly updated, women-specific, ten panel design. Power+'s compression limits fatigue without hampering moisture management, and the shorts stay comfortably in place while accommodating all of your cycling-related movements courtesy of the non-pinching Powerband leg cuff.

The shorts include a Motion Air Gel chamois, which presents a face of Cupron fabric to your skin. Cupron incorporates copper for antimicrobial properties that can actually have a salubrious effect on irritated spots and saddle sores. The gel padding itself is ventilated, and additional vents at the front keep you dry and limit the bacteria fighting that the Cupron has to do. A recessed center channel relieves pressure and bottoms-out in a strip of stretchy mesh that lets the two seat bone pads move independently of each other.

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I wear a size small in other Garneau bike shorts but this particular style is super small, not sure even a medium would fit, boo hoo. Am returning for a refund.

Good but not the best.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I love the way these shorts fit. Nice and snug and stay in place fairly well. I do wish they had a beed. Super comfortable all around but chamois is a little stiff and sometimes gets jammed in at the legs. Overall comfortable for rides but just not as good as I expected it to be.

No leg grippers

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

LG shorts usually fit me perfectly but these more expensive shorts are a disappointment because they have no leg gripping material around the hem of the legs. I like the fabric and the cut but I am constantly pulling the legs down. I will not purchase another pair of this type.

Look great but fail in performance

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

This was the first pair of Louis Garneau shorts that I've owned. The fit is perfect and they look great but sadly, the chamois just doesn't keep me comfortable on century or even on 30 mile rides. The chamois just doesn't seem to be padded enough, I've never had this problem with Pear Izumi shorts. The fabric seems to wear against my skin mostly between the thigh and crotch. I tried using chamois butter but that really didn't help the feel of the semi rough fabric against my skin. I'm 5'4" and weight 130 pounds and bought a medium so I don't think size is the issue and I sure wouldn't buy a larger size. I'd send them back if I could.

Great shorts and chamois

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I usually buy Garneau Neo Power shorts, which run small and force me to order a Large. I wanted to step up and try these Neo Power Motion shorts and ordered a Large as well, but in this model a Large is too big, so I had to send it back and get a Medium, which in this model, is true to size.
I put in 150/200 miles a week and the padding in these shorts is FANTASTIC! Made for long hours on the saddle, they're pricey, but worth every penny. I wish they were about one inch shorter, but they're still ok. Hope this helps other buyers....
