Description

CX332 Wide Cycling Shoe

While the Wide version of the CX332 Cycling Shoe occupies a step that’s just one below Lake's much-lauded CX402 model, it still packs many race-worthy features that are appreciated by the discerning cyclist. K-Lite kangaroo leather and mesh craft the upper, prized for its abrasion-resistant durability and suppleness for a fit that molds to your foot as you ride and, along with the Outlast temperature regulating heel and tongue liner, keeps your feet cooler when the mercury is spiked.

For the closure, dual IP1 Boa dials handle foot retention with micro-adjustments and comfortably secures the foot ensuring that every single watt is harnessed when cranking on the pedals. By employing two Boa closures, you can keep your heel locked down, without requiring excessive pressure or hotspots on the forefoot. And as you already know, that means better blood flow and greater comfort. The rear of the shoe also features its internal Thermaform Carbon Fiber heel counter for custom molding at home with an oven.

While this version is wider than the standard CX332 and narrower than the Extra Wide version, it still features Lake's CX/TX Race last which is a little narrower in the toe box and heel than the Competition last found on Lake's CX237 for a streamlined, glove-like fit that minimizes excess foot movement and prevents hot spots. Combined with a feathery light and stiff 100% carbon fiber sole, and you have a shoe that efficiently transfers every watt of power output into the pedals.

  • A road racing shoe that's slightly wider
  • Race Carbon sole efficiently transfers power to the pedals
  • Streamlined CX/TX last provides a secure, racing fit
  • Supple kangaroo leather upper molds to your foot
  • Strategic mesh panels enable cooling airflow
  • Dual Boa closures dial in the fit
  • Compatible with three-bolt cleats and pedals

The best cycling shoes in the business

    Familiarity:
    I've used it several times
    Fit:
    True to size

Lake are by far the best cycling shoes out there. I have owned 2 pairs of CX237, and now a pair of CX332 Wide. The CX237 were excellent comfortable and stiff soled shoes. I recently parted with a relatively new pair that i had bough, because upon some professional advice i discovered I didnt actually have an unusually wide foot and didnt need all the room I thought I needed from the CX237. So I ordered a pair of CX332 after consulting with one of the LAKE Team members. While I was waiting for my CX332's to arrive, i temporarily invested in a pair of Bont Vaypor+ shoes so i could continue riding. The Bonts are ok, they are the same lenmgth and width of the CX332 I ordered, and are made of the same Kangaroo upper, the Bonts however have a fully moldable sole made of a bucket type carbon tub. I rode the Bonts 2-3 times and they didn't feel right. Even after I moulded them twice, there were sore spots. The cleat holes felt too far back and I had no room to move them up. The front of the shoe extended pretty far out and looking down at my feet it looked weird, sio affected how I rode. The CX332 arrived yesterday, opening the box was like opening the briefcase in Pulp Fiction. The shoes are sleek and gorgeous. I was nervous as these were a signifcant investment. I loosed up the BOA's removed the paper stuffed inside them and slipped them on. Honestly, i dont know why i had any doubts. the moment when your toes go ionto their position and sit comfortably, no pressing against the front, no touching the sides or top, just perfection. The upper, although is the same as the Bonts, is just pure plush. A way better designed shoe. The CX332 is slimmer, so when I look down everything looks smart and sleek. the CX332 are about 5 mm shorter than the Bonts, even though the internal dimensions are the same, this means no hitting the front tyre with the front of the shoe. Forget the rest, Lake are the best. Lake are the only shoes that cater for pretty much 90% of the feet out there. Most other shoes are built for slim feet. This is about 10% of the riders out there. I am now selling my Bonts. You will absolutely not regret buying these shoes, or any Lake shoes for that matter

I've put 500 miles on this shoe. Over all power transfer is great. The wide size feels really comfortable. Sometimes I do have to tighten them a bit but i would suspect that is with any shoe. Otherwise the shoe is worth the price. They preformed well in the rain and cleaned up well afterwards.

For wide feet Lake is the best! I wore out my first pair several years ago and tried a different brand for a couple years because access to Lake shoes was limited for a while. I finally found a 43 Wide and have 2 years (about 12,000 miles) on them. I use Speedplay pedals and still love the fit and feel of these well made shoes.

CX332 Wide - Great for WIDE WEIRD FEET!

First time purchasing a Lake shoe. The team at Competitive Cyclist suggested that I follow Lake's sizing guide. I was reluctant to go with a 44.5, as I normally use a 43.5 and 44.0 So, I trusted their site and sure enough, it was on the money. I had to purchase the Wide Shoe which alleviates the pressure points on my right pinky toe knuckle. I formerly used a narrower shoe with LG, that has their pressure relief pocket. My advice, just find a wider shoe as opposed to using LG's 'pressure relief' technology. The look on the CX332 Wide is like no other. Its bright white leather. Its very comfortable. Unusual, that the shoes does not come with various arch support inserts but thats moot because I already use another brand insert. Overall, Im pleased with the shoe and the service that competitive cyclist continues to offer.
