When you're looking for an every-day knee pad, you'll surely have some priorities. Firstly, you need pedal-ability, then breathability, comfort, protection, and a secure fit, and Ion's K-Traze Knee Pads offer just that. These lightweight pads contour to your body with flexible SAS-TEC padding, providing protection from abrasion, and light impacts, while super Super Perforator neoprene keeps the fit snug, and allows sweat to escape. The back of the knee utilizes Ion's mesh panels that let the breeze in, helping you stay cool on punchy climbs, and a compression strap on top locks the fit in place.

Rub the back of the leg
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
For trail rides the K-Traze pads offer a solid amount of protection in a slim form factor. They're easy to take on and off thanks to the zipper, and fit well under most pants / shorts. My biggest gripe with them is the fit. The kneepads bunch while pedaling to the point that I can't do long back-to-back rides with them on because the skin on the back of my leg becomes so raw / sensitive. If I were to do it again, I would instead purchase the burly version of Ion's pads (K-Pact), which I own and love. They are a little bit longer in length so there is more surface area for the pads to grip on and as a result seem to stay in place better. Plus, totally personal preference, but the burly pads offer side knee protection which better suits my style of riding (i.e. burly all mountain / enduro).

Not long enough
I have the K Pact Ions which I am very happy with for riding the bike park. I tried these out for a trail pad but had to send back. I actually like the overall design for a trail pad except they are not nearly long enough, not enough coverage and look sort of small and goofy. I am sure Ion will do better and revise at some point

Sizing Varies
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
I?ve owned a previous pair of Ion knee pads that were mediums and didn?t stay up on my knee. So when I upgraded my knee pad I thought I would get a small. Small was too small! I?m hoping the mediums will work.
