Why We Like The Ibis Ripmo X0 AXS Transmission Mountain Bike
After the release of the HD6, we knew Ibis was up to some big things, and we hoped they would be a catching trend with their future releases. Our wishes have been granted with this new version of the Ibis Ripmo, acquiring some technical updates we saw coming and some that took us by total surprise. Now equipped with 150mm of DW-Link suspension, the Ripmo gets a small boost in rear travel to maintain its all-mountain prowess. The head tube angle and wheelbase are also slightly slacker and longer for more confidence going downhill. Ibis equipped the Ripmo with a whole new size in the middle of their range, giving riders in between sizes and the largest riders a frame better suited for them. With the new range of sizes, Ibis also split up the wheel sizes, giving the two smallest sizes mixed wheels and the three largest sizes coming stock with 29-inch wheels. Don't worry if you're a die-hard mullet rider; this new version of the Ripmo is equipped with a wheel-size flip chip so that we can run either wheel size with the flip of the chip. The Ripmo's geometry was also revamped, giving every rider a more agile ride with size-specific chainstays, seat tube angles, and bottom bracket heights, which, when paired with the new sizing, means a world of improvement in the fit of the Ripmo. Another exciting new feature on the Ripmo is Ibis's first internal frame storage system, which allows us to store our gear inside the frame.
The X0 Transmission build of the Ripmo has top-tier components to take our riding to the next level. Every build of the Ripmo is equipped with the same premium carbon frame, giving us optimal stiffness and precise handling all over the mountain. SRAM's X0 Transmission drivetrain ensures flawless shifting in any scenario and features a near-bombproof design. Ibis gave the Ripmo Fox's new Float 36 Factory GripX fork for all-mountain capability and a Factory Float X rear shock to throw down gripping traction in the steepest trails. Ibis's Blackbird Send alloy wheels and hubs round out this build, ensuring a heavy-duty wheelset for shredding at any level.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
