The Ibis Mojo HD4 Carbon GX Eagle WerxComplete Mountain Bike takes everything Ibis learned from the highly successful HD3 and sprinkles feedback from their enduro racers to create a souped up Mojo capable of handling the most demanding stages on the EWS circuit. Ibis lengthens the reach and relaxes the headtube while steepening the seattube angle so the new Mojo is able to attack the descents with a new sense of urgency without compromising the amazing climbing efficiency of the excellent DW-Link suspension design. Ibis added a piggyback shock that's tuned with more progression to prevent bottom out and is better able to cope with longer, rowdier descents without fading. This rebooted geometry and more capable shock, driven by the needs of the Ibis Enduro Race Team, designates the bike as an absolute enduro or big hit weapon versus the Mojo HD3, which focused more on agility and playfulness over all-out speed. Comparing the geometry of the HD3 to the HD4, you will notice that the reach on the 4 has grown substantially, roughly to the length of the next size up. The longer reach gives Mojo HD4 riders a roomier cockpit so you can either run a shorter stem and reap the benefits of a longer wheelbase and benefit from the higher levels of confidence when you're pushing the bike to the limits on wide open descents. The bikes are now truer to size and you will not have to size up as Ibis noticed many riders did. Lengthening the reach was one part of the equation for better enduro handling and slacking the headtube angle is other. Ibis experimented and did some real world testing and found the perfect balance at 64.9-degrees. Ibis feels that angle maximizes stability in off-camber sections, increases maximum lean angle and allow rider's to carry greater speed through the chunder. We couldn't agree more. This bike loves to go fast and instills complete confidence through the sketch.

The Mojo HD4 retains the praised kinematics of the DW-Link platform. Very few suspension designs pedal this efficiently, thanks to the anti-squat characteristics. Through its travel, the feel is linear and very active when you need it to smooth rough stretches of trail and ramps up right near the end of its travel to preserve that bottom-less feel. Ibis increases the upper and lower links by 30 and 40% eliminating any rear in wag when pushing the bike hard or sprinting to stop the clock. Travel bumps up from 150 to 153mm. FOX's new Float DPX2 is an excellent spec here and we are starting to see more bikes in this caliber coming equipped with it. Modern enduro stages are essentially extended downhills runs, and the FOX ramps up considerably to prevent it from bottoming out on big hits and endless rock gardens. The addition of the reservoir allows for more adjustments and oil flow so the shock doesn't fade when ridden aggressively for longer periods of time.

Ibis continues its excellent expertise of carbon frame construction on the Mojo HD4. The one-piece carbon lay-up results in a lightweight and strong frame with phenomenal stiffness. All sizes are designed to allow longer dropper posts than before with small frames accepting 150-millimeter droppers and the medium through extra-large frames work with 170-millimeter droppers. Internal cable and dropper routing keeps the bikes looking sharp and out of harm's way.

On this particular build, the GX Eagle drivetrain shifts accurately across the wide range 10 to 50-tooth cassette, so you'll have plenty of gear for the steepest climbs and rip-roaring descents. Ibis specs the Carbon 742 wheels featuring a healthy 35-millimeter internal width. These strong and lightweight hoops support the 2.6-inch Maxxis DHF Wide Trail Tires offering tons of traction and filter the chatter with the ability to run lower pressures. Matching the excellent rear suspension is FOX's Float 36 fork with its stout chassis and next level damping adjustments.

How come there is not a single review on HD4?

Hi Andrew, it's still a pretty new bike, so I think the reviews will take a little bit to roll in. The HD4 has had a few online published reviews. It is an updated HD3. Very simliar ride qualities. The linkage is a little stiffer, the top tube a bit longer, and Headtube slacker.
