To start, Gore equips the jacket to withstand a potent late fall cocktail of wind, rain, sleet, and snow showers by constructing the shell with its venerable Windstopper fabric. Water-resistant and completely windproof, the softshell fabric will move with you from your hoods to your drops and back again without feeling restrictive. Inside, a plush fleece lining acts as lightweight insulation, sitting cleanly over a baselayer or thermal jersey and establishing a lofted layer of warmth around your body, while continuing to wick moisture away from your skin as you heat up.

For the days that warm up more than expected, Gore adds two zippered vents for airflow and builds the jacket with a full-length zipper to allow for more temperature adjustment as needed.
