The key ingredient in these overpants is the Gore-Tex Active fabric, a 2.5-layer material that blocks external moisture while expelling internal moisture due to its excellent breathability. The seat is reinforced to prevent wear and increase water resistance, so you can leave the plastic bag off your saddle while it's locked up outside. The pants' slack fit doesn't mean Gore has ignored the fine details of construction, though — the knees are pre-shaped to accommodate the posture and motions associated with cycling.
