Why We Like The fizik X5 Artica GTX Shoe
Just because there's snow and ice on the trail doesn't mean we have to stop riding, and the fizik X5 Artica GTX Shoe is there to keep our feet warm as the temperature drops. Featuring a fully waterproof and breathable membrane, this low-profile winter mountain bike shoe seals out the worst weather yet maximizes airflow to wick sweat away from our feet. The internal speed lacing system and waterproof zipper closure are easy to operate without taking our gloves off so we don't freeze our digits when we need a mid-ride fit tune-up.

Solid winter shoes
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I’m a Specialized S-Works shoe guy for both on and off road. They unfortunately do not make a winter shoe and booties are a pain for off-road. I saw these on sale and decided to try them. They are nearly perfect. I’ve found I have to get the Velcro strap just-so in order to prevent ankle rub from the high cuff. While I’ve continued to perfect how to replicate that just-so Velcro strap placement, I liked these enough to also purchase the road version (which also requires attention with Velcro tightness). I wear the same size with Fizik as Specialized. If Fizik improved the cuff even slightly, these would be 5-stars in my book.
