Stockeu69 Road Frameset

The Côte de Stockeu makes most mortals cringe at the sight of the 10% average grade. For Eddy Merckx though, this iconic climb saw his race-winning attack at the 1969 edition of the Liège-Bastogne-Liège. Inspired by that climb and that success, the Stockeu69 frame delivers incredible stiffness at a featherlight 740g to not give gravity any more reason to slow our pace. The Stockeu69 is a versatile climbing bike, as ready to take on elevation-heavy stages of the Tour with AG2R as it is to conquer your next season’s race calendar.

Merckx crafts the Stockeu69 from high-modulus unidirectional carbon fiber for optimal stiffness to weight. The frame’s stiffness ensures every watt transfers from rider to tarmac and makes for more responsive handling on the descent, while the thin seatstays create a vertically compliant ride quality without sacrificing rigidity. Vertical compliance and the carbon construction create a more comfortable ride by absorbing road vibrations, thereby reducing fatigue. The Stockeu69’s race-ready geometry, combined with the frame’s stiffness, make it a reliable partner for launching attacks and covering the break.

While the classic aesthetics may fool some, the Stockeu69 is a thoroughly modern machine for the modern rider. Quick-release drop-outs hasten flat changes, so you can get back on course. The carbon fiber fork, from the same high-modulus construction as the frame, aids in keeping the weight low and the handling nimble. Whether you're preparing to take on the punchy climbs of the Ardennes or more local ascents, the Stockeu69 allows us all to be a bit more like Merckx.

  • A versatile climbing bike used by Tour team AG2R
  • Named for Merckx’s own victory after the Côte de Stockeu in 1969
  • High-modulus carbon fiber provides optimal stiffness to weight ratio
  • Vertically compliant ride quality smooths road vibrations for greater comfort
  • Race-ready geometry puts weight forward, ready to attack
  • Quick-release drop-outs and tapered headtube ease compatibility
