Competizione Short

With the Competizione Shorts, pro-level Castelli quality need not come at a pro-level price tag. Castelli drew on their premium shorts to design one perfect for training and riding, whether we fancy ourselves racers or riders. The Competizione features much of the same technology as their higher-end offerings, like a KISS Air2 insert and Giro4 leg grippers, making it comfortable for long and short rides alike.

The main panels use Castelli’s Vortex fabric for optimal breathability and comfort, while inside of the legs are a tighter Lycra for better compression, stretch, and rebound, where there’s more movement when pedaling. The KISS Air2 insert’s perforated padding and seamless upper keeps cool air moving through the short to ensure your comfort on the bike.

runs very small

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I am a male 5 feet 10 inches tall, 195 pounds, 36 inch waist. I ordered an XL and it is very tight. I am going to keep it, but if ordered again, I would order an XXL! Also very thin, can almost see through it but will be good for very warm weather or could even wear under cargo shorts when mountain biking. Nice chamois but would not buy again.

Great shorts. Rode 30 miles this morning and fit like a glove. Am 5' 8" and 170 lbs. Mediums work fine but if you are bigger than me, better order large. Padding is good as well.

Great short for avid enthusiast

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I'm relatively new to cycling community, bought my first gravel bike in April. I've been riding a few times a week on my bike and needed a short that was comfortable for both long and short rides. I usually average about 15 miles per ride, have gone as far as 40 miles on a ride. These shorts are fantastic, the fit is really nice and comfortable and the chamois is really comfortable as well. I have a stockier build and thicker legs and the Medium is a nice fit. They dry incredibly fast and the grippers at the bottom of the short really hug your legs, but not too tight to rip your leg hair off. So far its been warm weather here in CO on my rides in the mid 70s to high 80s, and these breathe really well and don't get super hot. I would definitely buy these again, great short for someone who isn't racing competitively. Good price point for someone not looking to break the bank on shorts or bibs but still wants higher quality than some of the other companies out there. I will continue to buy Castelli cycling clothing for sure.
