All grown up.

Cruising around the driveway on your grip-shift 9-speed in your classic Bell helmet might've been a defining vignette of your childhood, but we'd hazard a guess that Bell hasn't been on your radar much since you stopped riding the school bus. We'll fill you in on what you've missed. As you've grown taller, lost the braces, cut your hair, and moved out of the mom and pop hotel, Bell's done some growing up of its own. Its newer crop of helmets is ready for a lot more than driveway cruising; return to Bell with the Super 3 MIPS Helmet when you're hunting down tacky dirt on your all-mountain hound and you'll see what we're talking about.

The Super 3 MIPS shares a lot with its rowdier DH sibling, the Super 3R MIPS, with the main distinction being the Super 3's affinity for trail and all-mountain riding over DH and freeride. An In-Mold polycarbonate shell stands guard against direct impacts, while a MIPS liner sits inside the helmet, diffusing the rotational energy generated in certain crashes.

Bell knows you'll be climbing as much as descending on trail rides, so it punches out 23 vents across the Super 3, plus internal channels along the brow, to help you stay cool and level-headed on never-ending switchbacks. Pop a camera into the included camera mount—it'll breakaway in the event of a crash to save it from further damage—and make quick on-trail fit adjustments with the Float Fit dial, which has been lightened and rubberized this year for added comfort.

  • Stay cool and clear-headed in this airy trail helmet
  • MIPS technology helps diffuse rotational forces
  • Breakaway camera mount keeps your POV footage safe
  • Adjustable visor is compatible with goggles

How to Measure:
For best results, use a tape measure to measure around your head where your hat would fit comfortably.

It didn't work for me.

I've got a wierd melon. At 23 inches I'm on the big end of a medium and the small end of a large. With a sweat band the medium is too small, but the large looks like I should be cast on spaceballs. Ended up returning it.

Full send or only half

I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

This is a great trail riding helmet that is comfortable with good venting. The removable chin guard is what really makes this helmet. Whether you are riding a downhill single track or just need a little extra protection for one technical spot on your trail ride this helmet has you covered.

Great Mountain Bike Helmet!

I've used it several times

I have enjoyed the Super 3 since I got it. I have a narrow head and was concerned the Medium might be too big (I wear Mediums in most helmets) but this fits quite well. I love the airflow that I get in the helmet and feel that it keeps my head nice and cool. I bought this helmet for the option to get a chin bar in the future if I decide to ride more aggressively. I am also super stoked on the Emerald color.

Big Noggins are loved by Bell...

I've put it through the wringer

I had originally bought a Rev. 1 of this model simply because the Large was the only thing that fit my big noggin. Even that sat high on my head, but at least didn't make me feel like I had my head in a vice. I also later added the full face clip-on, which gives me enduro protection on those rowdy days. This new MIPS version not only fits, but fits well and sits down on my head where it should. MOST COMFY helmet ever for my Charlie Brown bean. AND...the face mask transferred to it perfectly. IF you have a large cranium and have had trouble finding something that works, try on one of these. The MIPS model fits well, accessorizes and looks really sweet with the rest of your kit. Ventilation is super too! A+ Bell!!

Awesome helmet!

I've used it several times

It was time to update my helmet game and this is where I landed. The Super 3 is by far the most comfortable helmet I've owned. Rather than just inserting the MIPs technology into the helmet, they have constructed the helmet around the MIPS, making it more comfortable then the previous version. I've only had it out on a few rides, but I'm a huge fan. Hi quality construction, so I see this helmet lasting me a long time (or until I take a spill and it does it's job).

My favorite helmet ever (so far)!

I've put it through the wringer

I replaced a Giro Hex with this helmet and I am extremely happy with it. It's well ventilated, comfortable, great vision (the Hex visor never really worked, probably my head hah) and great retention system, really stays put without being tight. I only have about 60 miles on it, but I can't really envision any negatives cropping up. I know some reviews of the Super 2 say it was heavy, I have never worn a Super 2, but the Super 3 to me is not heavy at all. I've worn it all day and it was very comfortable. The only complaint I have, and it's very minor, is the helmet liner/pad seems to not wick sweat very well. Once it gets really saturated with sweat it just kind of stays like that. It doesn't get uncomfortable or anything and to be fair I didn't even notice until I took it off, but I just thought I'd mention it. It may be relevant to someone who shaves their had or has super short hair. It is very easy to remove and rinse out, so to me no big deal. To someone else? May be a big deal. As a bonus the GoPro mount it comes with is really nice and stable and easily removable. All in all I am super happy with it and will probably buy the chinguard at some point.
