Item # BEL00C1

From four wheels to two.

Rather than continue to sit, miserable and tightly wound, in rush hour traffic five days a week, years of "I should", "I could", and "I'd really like to" have finally given way to a solid resolution to commute by bike. Commuting involves a decent amount of gear, and one piece you won't want to skimp on is the lid protecting your brain. Light and efficient, the commuting-specific Bell Annex MIPS Helmet comes with features that promote safety and comfort while you enjoy fresh air and pleasantly active rush hours.

One of the biggest advantages the Annex delivers comes in the form of its MIPS liner, which rotates slightly during oblique impact to absorb brain-damaging rotational energy generated in certain crashes. Together with the Annex's durable shell, you'll be well-equipped if navigating crowded city streets and busy bike lanes results in an unfortunate spill.

Anticipating the multitude of weather changes you're likely to experience while commuting, Bell added an Active Air Slider over the helmet's 15 vents to allow you to control the amount of airflow in the helmet. You'll stay warmer on cool days and drier on wet ones with this thoughtful addition. Bell's Float Fit dial makes on-the-go fit adjustments easy, and a soft-brim visor shields against surprise evening showers, helping you maintain visibility and get home safely.

  • Trade in your seatbelt for this functional commuting helmet
  • MIPS technology adds protection against certain impacts
  • Slider allows you to regulate venting depending on weather
  • Soft visor subtly shields you from rain and sun
  • High-visibility accents help keep you visible on dimly lit morning commutes and late homes alike

Looks Good!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

If you are looking for a rad helmet that is very visible, look no further. I don't bike but I got this helmet for a lightweight option to use while Speedflying and Paragliding. The first thing I noticed was how reflective it is. The whole center piece as well as some accents on the back and straps are all reflective. So this helmet would be awesome if you want to be seen in traffic.

Next thing I realized was how great of a fit it was. With Bell's Float Fit Adjustment system you can get a perfect secure fit that almost molds to your head. You can crank it down enough that the helmet doesn't move at all and still feels great.

Last tidbits, the buckle is a very easy to use system similar to like a snowboard bindings ladder system. The visor is removable as well if you don't like it. With MIPS being in so many different helmets and styles now it would be silly to buy a helmet without it. MIPS has come down in a price a ton so may as well spend a couple extra dollars for the extra protection. This thing also has tons of adjustable ventilation for when you need to dump a bunch of heat. To tie the whole package together the helmet is very lightweight which for me is great since I am usually hiking up some hills with it strapped on my back.
