The most important feature of the 7mesh Industries Resistance Men's Cycling
Jacket is what it doesn't have: weight. At just 115 grams, it's
virtually unnoticeable on your back, and packs up to about the size of
your fist, so it's easy to stuff into a jersey pocket if you're afraid
that a chilly wind might kick up during your ride. If it does, the
Windstopper Active Shell windproof membrane will stop it from sucking the
heat from your core while allowing sweat to evaporate quickly so you
don't get stuck riding home in a clammy chill.
Like all 7mesh shells, the Resistance is
cut with Helix patterning for a cycling-specific
fit with mobility in all the right places. It won't bunch
or ride up (there's also gripper elastic on the hem to prevent gaps),
and the slim fit reduces flapping so it doesn't function as an accidental
air brake. Zippered
wrist vents and passive back vents provide optional airflow from in warm conditions, and a mesh
thumbhole cuff provides coverage for your hands and keeps your
sleeves in place. Throw in low-bulk seam taping for
packability and reflective details for an extra touch of safety, and the
Resistance is ready to ride anywhere you care to take it.

Perfect
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: XL
This jacket is great in the Autumn. It is perfect on chilly mornings because it blocks all the wind yet it breaths well. I have used this jacket on long rides and commutes where the temperature changes thought the day. It is easy to take off and pack in my pocket as it warms up or to pull it out and put on if the temperature drops.
The sizing is absolutely spot on for a form fitting jacket. I have a hard time fitting jackets because I have a 43" chest and a 36" waste. Yet this jacket works perfectly on the bike. It is important to note that it will feel tight in the chest standing, yet when I get into the riding position it fits perfectly and doesn't flap in the wind.
Runs Small!
- Fit: Runs small
Just received it - seems to be very nice quality and nice and light weight like I wanted. However, even though most of all of my cycling jerseys are sized Large, I can even move my arms in the Large of this jacket. I'm in the process of exchanging for an XL and will update my experience once I've used it.

Packs away in your palm
Despite the waterproof Gore Windstopper fabrics and the incredible seam sealing, this thing packs away easily

Hands down favorite
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
This is absolutely my favorite cycling piece I own. Super light, extremely breathable, "waterproof" and fits in jersey pocket. The attention to detail is unrivaled- wrist vents, ultra thin seam tap on windstopper, and large exhaust ports. While this is considered more of a wind jacket, it must rain a bit in Squammish where these are designed. With a little bit Arc'Teryx and and little bit Assos in the bloodline, you won't be disappointed- I PROMISE.
If you're looking for some thing slightly warmer and more waterproof, the 7Mesh Recon is for you.
Fit- average. Order a size large and this can be your everything outdoors piece (hike, climb, backpacking)
Just want to point out that neither Gore nor 7Mesh claim that the Windstopper fabricis waterproof. 7Mesh only says that the garment is "Highly water resistant."
