Description

If you own a braze-on front derailleur and then purchase a frameset that requires a clamp-on front derailleur, this is what you need so you can keep using the derailleur you already own. It transforms a braze-on front derailleur into a clamp-on style in a matter of moments. You'll need to choose one of three sizes -- 28.6mm, 31.8mm, or 34.9mm (aka 1-1/8", 1-1/4", and 1-3/8" respectively).

Two notes of interest: These clamps are 100% compatible with both Shimano and Campagnolo front derailleurs. Also, the 28.6mm clamp isn't made by Shimano. Shimano doesn't manufacture a 28.6mm clamp. Rather, it's made by the highly regarded company, Problem Solvers.

It works but....

Yeah, its a pretty simple concept and it does work I had a few issues on my Cinelli cross bike build. It seems this adapter is meant for Di2 derailleurs as there is a lot of vertical surface area that I assume would make contact with the electronic motor that was left unused by the 105 mechanical I am using. As a side result of this I had to mount the clamp band in a position that interfered with installing a bottle cage on the seat tube. I ended up going with a FSA adapter that works better, has better build quality and was cheaper.

Works as it should without issue, at a great low price. Quality product for the money.

    Simple, durable

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Again, this will sound silly; but this just works. I have no complaints or anything negative to say. They're just awesome.

My bike frame is a plain TI without any paint. Would it fit well since it is a case of metal on metal? I afraid it would (somehow) slip. Or, do you have any suggestion?

Is there any reason this wouldn't work with a SRAM Apex front derailleur?

Can i use this for my dura ace 9000 braze on?

Is the 31.8 right size for Boardman SLR ?

    Best Answer

Yes, this derailleur clamp will work with DA9000 braze-on front derailleurs. You will need a 34.9mm clamp for the Boardman SLR.

    Easy does it.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Quick fix for getting your braze-on to a clamp on frameset. Nothing flashy here, it does the job well. Secure, sturdy, cheap.
