Comfort and protection without losing contact.

We've been beyond impressed with Shimano's S-PHYRE lineup of clothing, shoes, and accessories. It's redefined our expectations of how cycling clothing should fit and perform and with the dedication and development that Shimano puts in its components, it really shouldn't come at any surprise. We have anxiously been waiting to get our hands on, rather in, a pair of its Men's S-PHYRE Glove and now that we have, they're so comfortable we have to remind ourselves to take them off post ride.

Shimano knows a thing or two about hand and shifter interfacing, after all, the brand did pioneer the first shifter/brake lever controls and continues to refine the shape of the hoods to a more pleasing form with every new generation. What makes this glove so comfortable is the one-piece panel made from a soft yet durable material. By using the one-piece design, Shimano was able to remove seams that would otherwise cause irritation and prevent you from having a comfortable grasp on the bars and hoods. Additionally, Shimano foregoes any padding or mechanical closures that would add bulk or otherwise affect your grip. The design simply adds more control in all conditions. Shimano also gives the S-PHYRE gloves a pre-curved design that conforms to your hands, instead of the other way around, and feel great from the get-go.

The Shimano S-PHYRE glove is available in the color Black and in five sizes from S–XXL.

  • Minimalist road cycling gloves with some advanced features
  • Materials and construction allow for a next-to-skin feel
  • No padding or closures reduce bulk and improve grip
  • Shimano continues to refine touch point accessories enhancing cycling comfort and performance

Nice glove but runs small

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

Material quality seams nice, but the glove is tight. According to their sizing chart at 9.25" it said I was a L. I always wear XL in Giro and other brands so I decided to go with XL. These were too tight, I was considering giving them a try in hopes they would stretch a bit, but when I took them off after only a few minutes I had crease marks in my skin from the seams, and had a difficult time removing them. I Will send them back for XXL.

Good Quality, but runs small

  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: medium

Bought these for Tempo Tuesday rides. The quality is good, but they run small. I'm hoping they stretch a bit with use.

Love this glove but.....

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small

So I have the S-Phyre shoes and am really impressed. Saw these gloves when i was looking for some new ones, and was hesitant because they do not have any padding in the glove, but decided to give them a try.
Problem 1.: I have large hands, and have always worn the largest size glove in a products range. When I measured my hand, the sizing chart recommended a size L. I thought this was strange, but ordered them. When they arrived, didnt even try them on, way too small. I would not trust the size chart at least for people with large hands.
Ordered a second pair in XXL, they fit tight, but comfortable. After 2 rides ranging from 2 to 3 hours, I was sold, these are awesome gloves, and I would not go back to heavily padded gloves again. I really liked a more direct connection with out the bulk of pads, but still have the grip gloves provide.
Problem 2: On the third ride one of the seams ripped out. Think even in XXL my hands are just a little too big I am 6´3´´ 190 lbs.
I have never not fit a brands largest glove, but looks like these will not work for me.
If they were a little larger I would give them 5 stars.
