Description

Stop in anything.

Cooler brakes stop more reliably, and Shimano's BR-RS805/RS505 Flat Mount L04C Metallic Ice-Tech Disc Brake Pads use both cooling Ice Technology and a metal construction to provide the highest all-around stopping power in Shimano's line. On their own, the metal pads display reliable, high stopping power in wet or dry conditions, demonstrating consistently better durability over repetitive use than their resin counterparts. The pads' Ice Tech distinction refers to an additional radiation fin pad, made with an aluminum and stainless steel fin that improves the pads' ability to stay cool under hard braking. If you're running Ultegra BR-RS805 or 105-level RS505 hydraulic disc brakes on your bike and want a pad that will stop you in muddy, sandy, wet conditions, the L04C's would be tough to beat.
  • Brake pads for consistent stopping power, even in the heat
  • Ice technology helps dissipate heat to keep braking power up
  • Metallic compound for reliable stopping in wet or dry
  • Radiation fin pad moves heat outwards to keep pads cool
  • Compatible with Shimano BR-RS805 and BR-RS505 brakes

works for me

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Couldn't decide between metallic and resin for my gravel bike with Shimano 805 hydraulic brakes, so I got both. The resin went on the back where I do most normal braking, great modulation and quiet. Metallic on the front, which I use when I need to stop RIGHT NOW. Their bite is noticeably better, albeit with a little more noise and less feel. I've run this combination well over 600 miles now in all sorts of conditions and very happy with it.

works for me

Thanks, I was trying to decide between the resin and metallic pads as well.

If Metallica rode bikes, they'd ride metal pads. Louder than Resin, but better braking performance. Also works with Dura Ace 9170!
