I wear a Large in almost every cycling garment ever, and am built like a climber. Understanding how road shorts are manufactured these days, I ordered these in an XL. As expected, they fit like a Medium in the legs. Very tight from the waist down and cut much shorter than I like. The padding is comfortable, the shoulder straps actually fit like an XL and were comfortable, although they are not “adjustable” as advertised. Requested a return from CC with the intent of sending them right back. However, I thought I would take a chance and see if riding in them for a while offered some stretch and a better fit. After approx. 100 miles, the fit became even worse. The leg grippers stretched so much they pulled nearly half-way up my thigh (who the hell enjoys that ?) and the overall fit in the legs didn’t change at all. Needless to say, I was now stuck with these. A CC rep just happened to call as a courtesy checkup on these recent products and I explained the situation. Per usual CC’s outstanding service, he immediately issued a credit and told me to send them back, which I promptly did. A replacement purchase is still pending. Wondering if this particular pair wasn’t simply a defect. M lowers matched to an XL upper ?
