Keep your hands comfortable.

If you're looking for an affordable glove that's actually up to the task, the Louis Garneau 1 Calory Gloves fit the bill. They have everything that you need to keep your hands comfortable over rough roads and during long days in the saddle.

The top side of the hand is covered in spandex, which breathes well, conforms to the hand's shape, and wicks away moisture. Underneath, a comfortable and durable Amara palm provides grip. Since hot, clammy hands can lead to blisters and general discomfort, the palm is perforated to promote a positive airflow. The ventilation is most prominent in the recess of the palm — this is Garneau's patented Ergo Air concept, which helps to evacuate moisture. Additionally, 10mm foam inserts reduce hand fatigue from road vibrations, and a soft microfiber thumb acts as a forgiving nose-wiper.

As a nice final touch, the Garneau 1 Calory Gloves have a refinement that we wish came on all half-finger gloves — a puller tab that eases entry and exit.

The Louis Garneau 1 Calory Gloves are available in sizes X-Small to XX-Large and in the colors Black, Charcoal, and Ginger.

Great gloves

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

Lightweight, comfortable, and affordable.

Mostly good

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

I like the light weight and breathability. Love the gray color (black is too hot, white shows grease.) Bought these to replace my Air Gel 12c which were ripped after a wreck, loved those! but cant find them any longer. The thumb wipe is too small. The border trim stitching is unraveling on the wrist, too tricky to repair against the stretchy back of hand fabric. Looking for another pair.

Nice Gloves

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Good deal on these & actually most LG stuff is pretty great these days.
If I have one small complaint on these is the terry thumb section is not much in size so for sweaty brow wiping not much but other than that...comfy & good fit true to size

light and breathable for daily rides

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

loved the light weight - not for grand fondo rides as theres not that much padding--but good enough for daily 50- 60 mile rides.

Great Gloves

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I bought these for a century ride and my hands were comfortable throughout the entire ride. Fir true to size also.

Slightly Small, Simple and to the Point

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

These gloves have a lot of padding but you'd never know. The design is kind of plain but it is what it is. The terry cloth on the thumb can be a bit more generous but it's a nice suede-like material and works. Fit is snug. My hand is exactly 9" and the large is just right. Medium would be too small, so I'd say if in doubt size up.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these gloves as a replacement for the LG Zero Calory gloves that I had been using. Unfortunately, although the Zero's had been great glove for use in hot weather, the 1 Calory was a disappointment. The material for the back of the love was changed to some kind of polyester than "pilled" horribly so the whole backside of the gloves are now fuzzy like a wornout teddy bear. The very convenient slip-on design was replaced with Velcro tabs which I hate and find completely unnecessary with modern glove materials. Don't know why LG stopped making the 0 Calory. It was a great glove. Wish I had bought a dozen of them when I had the chance.

Exceeded my expectations!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

We're talking about an 8usd pair of gloves.
They are comfortable enough, more padding would be great for long rides, but again they were 8 bucks.
Great for the price!

I had purchased one pair of these gloves and they turned out to be one size to small do to my big hand they ripped. so I bought a second pair and the fit great and work perfectly.
