Sizing!? WTF is up with the sizing?
- I returned this product before using it
- Runs small
- Size Bought
- 135 lbs
I have owned 5 prs of Giro Factors, Empires and Tech Lace over the past 11 yrs. All are the same size (42.5) and all have appeared to use the same last. I cannot explain the narrowness and overall fit of these. My feet hurt just putting them on with the thinnest sock; a Woolie Boolie sock is simply a non-starter, (boo!)! I loosened the laces all the way out such that the velcro won't fasten (too short) and still no relief from the pressure. I don't have a high arch. I'm curious about the HV (high volume) version Giro sometimes offers, but it's not in stock and no one seems to have a 43 or 43.5 to try. These do not appear to stretch and it pains me to mail them back, but alas... maybe they will fit your feet.

Sizing is WAY OFF
If you order these, you better order at least a half size (or maybe even a whole size) larger than usual. The sizing is way off. And the shoes are very narrow. They need include cm measurements in the sizing chart to help avoid problems.

Great MTB/Gravel Shoes!
- True to size
These have been great. Bought these specifically for gravel and liked them so much I started using them for all my non-road (SPD-SL) riding. The velcro straps provide great support combining the BOA dial.

Style: Yah; Sizing: Nah
- Runs small
Upon unboxing i was really feeling these shoes. the hi-vis Lime, plus the feel of the material is quality. However, sizing is off in my opinion. I ordered what I thought would be my size. Also, these shoes run narrow.

Great MTB shoes
- I've put it through the wringer
I now have about 200 miles in these shoes, so I wanted to leave a review on their performance so far. After wearing-through my older Shimano spd shoes, I wanted to switch things up and try these Giros since I had heard good things. They have been great so far - I like that they come with 3 different levels of Arch support, which can be quickly and easily swapped via Velcro on the insole. The BOA system has been solid so far and I do thing that combined with the two Velcro straps, you can get a great customized fit out of these shoes. They take a little time to break in to make them "yours", but are certainly comfortable out of the box. The only thing I would change immediately would be to ensure that the cleats are recessed enough in the sole that they don't touch the ground when you walk around. Unfortunately the cleats do touch the ground, even when the shoes are brand new - this isn't a huge issue, unless you plan to walk around on hardwood floors, but it is something that I feel makes them a 4 star vs 5 star.

Thanks for mentioning the cleat clearance issue.

Great lightweight shoes
- I've used it several times
Great shoe. Reasonably light weight and comfortable to walk in, but also very stiff so your transfer of power is not compromised. I like the BOA closure combined with the techlace system. I am able to dial in a great fit with this combination. Comes with 3 different size changeable arch supports for the insole. I sized-up one size with this model. I went with the size 48.

What was the shoe you had before you sized up for this one? Was it also a Giro, or a different brand?
