Coup d'Tour.

Though Giordana may enjoy rightful dominance in the realm of cycling kit, Orica—in true Aussie fashion—has always been something of a scrappy underdog that produces big results while flying under the radar of the bigger European squads. We're thinking specifically of scrappy stage race performances by Yates and Chaves, with the latter proving to be a constant threat to the big name media darlings despite the fact that he is so often under-covered by the Anglophone cycling rags. This year, Orica and Giordana have hooked up, so Chaves and the Yates brothers will be staging their 2017 coups d'Tour in the Men's Giordana FR-C Pro Orica Team Bib Shorts.

Many of us have ridden FormaRed Carbon (FR-C) kit for years now, so we were curious (indeed a little nervous) as to what, exactly, the "Pro" appellation means. The FR-C formula is a winning one, and when things are working, we loathe to see them get hit with the innovation hammer; however, Pro essentially means that the shorts are made with fabrics that are more print-friendly, a move meant to accommodate the branding of Orica's team livery. Other than improved printability, these are virtually the same as the standard FR-C bibs we've come to know and love—that is, if such high quality, made-in-Italy kit can be referred to as "standard."

  • Stage a cycling coup in the Giordana bibs worn by professionals
  • Paneling curves to map your body in the saddle
  • The same CirroOmni Form chamois that supports Orica's riders
  • Construction reduces folding, puckering, and wind-catching ridges
  • Gently compressive Lycra supports muscles over hours-long rides
  • Support and abrasion resistance in waistband and seat panel
  • Lightweight bib straps nevertheless add support to upper body
  • All of Giordana's cycling clothing rolls out of the brand's own Italian factory

Great Bibs!!

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL

This is a great set of bibs! Love the chamois, material quality beyond many of the others. Lower cut on my stomach is nice and stays cooler in hot summer days for me. Yet, still has good compression for the legs. Plus they look pretty good too!

The best bibs I ever had!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

I disagree with the negative review here. I've owned several bibs (Santini, De Marchi, Pearl Izumi, Luis Garneau, and others). These are the most comfortable, and best looking bibs I have. I'm 5'7" 140-145 lbs with about 31 waist and have these in Medium, and they fit perfectly. The grip is firm but not constraining. The padding is superior. I've had several 50-65 mi rides in these and had no issues at all. I also get a ton of compliments on them! I highly recommend them.

When I saw that this bib was 50% off I couldnt resist the opportunity to purchase a higher end bib at low end price. I've owned different brands (Roka, Pearl Izumi, Endura, and now Giordana) bib shorts. Buying bib shorts is a guilty pleasure of mine, I feel as if it is the most important cycling item you can buy aside from a good pair of cycling shoes. I ordered a Medium at first but after looking at the measurements for sizes I called and changed my order to a large. I have a waist of 33 and a half so I thought the medium may have ended up to tight on me. When I got the large I tried it on and it fit okay but to get a full perspective of the bib I rode in it around 4 times averaging 20/25 miles a ride with an average speed of 17 mph. The first thing I noticed was that the fit was a little to bulky for my liking. I could visibly see the material was not hugging my body correctly. Im not giving this bib a negative score because it didnt fit right because I took into account the experience of the bib if I had ordered the medium which would have been the right size for me. The two things that bothered me about this bib was the material they used around the lycra and the lycra itself. In the orica scott FRC bib it is the dark blue area. The problem with this material was that it was not stable and weird feeling. Pretty much every time I tried repositioning myself on the saddle for when I went into a tt position or after a sprint out of the saddle the material felt really grippy and opposed to moving if I slid my butt to a comfortable position on the saddle. Comparing the lycra to the other bibs in my collection it has to be the worst. On my rides I wasnt uncomfortable but I also wasnt comfortable. The lycra from my other bibs are much more enjoyable and supportive than the one on this. Im 100% certain I will never buy a giordana bib again. At the end of the day if you want to get a bib from giordana I would suggest sizing down. I found that you should look at the largest size the bib supports, using giordana for example, if the large states 32-36 then you should only focus on the 36 because thats what they base the fit off of. A rule of thumb from me to you: for comfort and functionality if you are inbetween two sizes choose the smaller size of the two. Bulky fitting bibs are the worst in my opinion. You always have to concentrate on pulling up the bib which distracts from your workout. A bib is supposed to act like a second skin meaning it is supposed to be tight and hug your body very snug. I will continue wearing this bib however because I paid $125 after tax for it. Thankfully it was not full price because then I wouldve been more sad.

More is less.

Love these shorts. I've been riding maybe 20 years, first 15 I'd guess all non-bib style shorts. Tried bibs about 5 years ago and it has been bibs ever since. I wanted New pair, read some reviews, and in one review, these were rated #1. I have never spent $200 on a pair, and was reluctant, but I am glad I treated myself. First opening and taking them out I thought, wow, not a lot here. I am 5'8" and weigh 148# and these shorts in medium fit perfectly. They are very minimal, light and thin, but boy are they comfortable. Have ridden in them twice so far. Don't want to wear any of my others now!! Others seem so bulky compared to these. One not so really small thing. In reading reviews, one criteria was ease of use for a nature break. Before these shorts, I just assumed when wearing bibs you had to suffer with the difficulty of bibs and a nature break. Not so with these, as I said they are minimal, so the front is low, much lower than any of my others. Padding is also minimal, which is fine by me, but you should know that, and I'd say padding is very well designed and placed. And... they look awesome too. Buy a pair and you will not be disappointed. As always, Competitive Cyclist was great on service and delivery.

Just as described in the company product review, the FR-C Pro is a tremendous improvement from the standard FR-C bibs. The most noticeable improvements are the softness of the lycra and the omission of tightness and puckering in the cuffs.

I always dreamed of a bib that combined the upper-body FR-C (straps and stomach support) and the lower-body of my Assos-Equipe.

At last, my wish has been satisfied. These bibs are my go-to bibs for my rides, typically, 3-hours in length.

They are definitely worth the cost, which by the way, is lower at this point in time than the regular FR-C!
