Fit for life.
Garmin's Vívofit 2 is an updated version of the minimally sized wearable that opens up a world of biometrics. New additions to the Vívofit 2 include a backlit screen and automatic synching with the data storage, sharing, and management of Garmin Connect. Meanwhile, the host of features that made its predecessor fit for life in the active community return virtually unchanged.
Our personal favorites of the returning features include the accelerometer, which tracks indoor, stationary workouts without the need for an additional footpod, and the Move Bar activity alarm, which keeps you on point by actively reminding you to avoid staying sedentary for too long. The Vívofit 2 is also ideal to track recovery between training sessions, with a sleep monitor that marks periods of restless or restful slumber. It also counts calories, including base metabolic rate, and suggests daily goals based on your personal activity history. This means that, even when you're in the office instead of the saddle, the Vívofit 2 helps you maintain a conscious awareness of your overall activity level.

Submersible, to say the least.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I am a commercial scuba diver and found this watch at the bottom of Lake Winnsapausakee at roughly 25ft in depth. It appeared to have been there for some time as the band was severely discolored and covered with lake slime. So for water testing, it is very well sealed. It worked perfectly the day I took it out and now use it every day, except i take it off to dive :-) Very happy to have found this!
This is the accurate photo of the Navy Vivofit2. The BC pic is for a different blue.
Excellent fitness band
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I have been wearing this band for a few weeks now and actually have a lot of feedback on it already.
I think this is a great choice when it comes to fitness bands out on the market right now. While it isn't perfect, there are a lot of things that I love about it.
PROS: No charging, battery lasts for one year.
Multiple screen displays.
Get up and move alerts!
Secure locking closure.
You can swap the bands to change with your style.
Great app that pairs with my fitness pal.
CONS: No auto sleep detection-I always forget to set it manually!
No silent alarm.
Sometimes it will track "steps" when I am really just moving my arms.
Just a tip: If you haven't been active for a while (1 or more hours) it takes 200 consecutive steps to clear your red bars on the screen. So get moving!
Overall, I am very happy with my Garmin Vivofit. I would definitely recommend it!
