Vivoactive 4S Heart Rate Monitor
Garmin’s Vivoactive 4S Heart Rate Monitor fills the need for a downsized version of their Fenix lineup and one that caters to those who exercise a little closer to home and need a little less deep-country technology. Driven more towards those of us who perform standard exercises like running, swimming, and cycling, or hit the gym for group class sessions, the Vivoactive 4S satisfies the in many key areas of daily movement. As a standard, the Vivoactive 4S tracks heart rate and the basics of stats like floors climbed, steps, and estimated calories. But it boosts the volume with integrated workout guidance for reps, set, breathing, and zones for various animated on-watch workouts. It will even estimate your fitness after you’ve got through the paces.
Garmin designs the Vivoactive to go to the pool and the golf course and will perform detailed swimming style analysis and survive up to 5ATM. On course, the watch tells the distance to the hole, calls out hazards, keeps score, and more. But more, the watch is catered to women and provides menstrual cycle information in addition to several useful health stats that everyone can appreciate with fitness age, stress tracking, and abnormal heart rate alerts (high and low).
The Vivoactive is a smartwatch. In being so, it provides smartphone notifications, allows the use of Garmin Pay, controls your phone’s playlist, and holds 500 songs in its internal storage. Battery life is up to seven days and up to five hours using GPS and music, or 15 hours with just GPS.

Garmin vivoactive 4S
My last two watches have been Garmin brand. I have enjoyed wearing them both. There is a lot to learn for a 65+ year old woman. I hate to admit I still haven't found how to download music to my watch to listen while I walk. I wonder if audiobooks are able to be downloaded as well. I mostly use it to record my steps and watch my heart rate.

Love love love
I have used this watch for a month and love it! I switched from an Apple Watch and was skeptical, but no regrets! The battery life is great and so many great features.

Disappointed in "no VO2 Max"_Love the Home Screen
I am disappointed that I can't get my VO2 Max score from walking on the treadmill, as I used to with my old Garmin Vivosmart watch. As I understand it, the VO2 Max score is only recorded for outdoor activities and GPS is only activated for outdoor activities. I am prone to skin cancer so I do not exercise outside. Also, the Vivoactive records too many miles when I'm walking on the treadmill. It seems to think that peope always run on a treadmill. I have NEVER run on the treadmill, as that is not a good thing, for old knees. The Vivoactive has many great new features, but I don't need or use them. The screen is awesome. The main reason I replaced my old watch was that the display was "fading," and I had never been able to see the display in sunlight. That problem has been solved.

Frustrating
Had it over a year now and must return to the app to update and reset. At least it keeps time

Great Upgrade!
I upgraded from a Vivoactive that I had for four years. I've been using my new Garmin for about two months now and I'm loving the features. Great new health insights and home screen.

Attractive watch with all the bells and whistles
I had this watch for four+ years. I used it for many workouts including swimming. If it were still available I would have purchased another when this one gave up the ghost recently.

Great features, but hard to navigate
The features of this watch are great, however it is really hard to figure out which buttons do what for certain functions. One example is that whenever you are running a workout it is extremely hard to figure out how to stop or save your workout. I had to watch multiple YouTube tutorials on how to do it before finally figuring it out. Otherwise this watch is great and really easy to connect to the app on your phone.

Worthless As HRM
This watched failed at the basic level to monitor my pulse, I could be exercising vigorously and manually count 140+ BPM but my poor quality Garmin tracks it at 80. It maybe tracks correctly 1/7 uses. Returned for full refund.
