Whether you're training for a tri, making a commitment to getting healthy, or just working on getting ready for summer, Garmin's Index Smart Scale makes sticking to your plan a whole lot easier. It does all the classic scale things: weighing in pounds, kilograms, and even stone. It also tracks body mass index, body fat percentage, bone mass, and skeletal muscle mass, all of which are important data points for high-level athletes. The Index can recognize and remember up to 16 different users, and of course it can sync to Garmin Connect, the online platform that lets you track and analyze all your workout data, so you can see exactly how your workouts correspond to your goals.

Piece of junk that won't connect. Failed product
I bought this through the website on February and it has been nothing but a pain to set up and use. It was impossible to pair, took so long to connect to wifi, and It only accepted one Garmin connect profile in pairing the one time I got it to pair successfully.Yet, after a firmware upgrade it never paired with app and wifi again. I tried to pair using both updated Android (Pixel) phone and iphone, more than 20 times I tried to reset it and pair yet everytime I get a message "Pairing failed". I’ve followed the suggested support recommendations to reset and no good. This is the MOST EXPENSIVE scale on the market yet it can't event connect to the company's app, it's fails to do its job and you can't set up two profiles. Garmin should be ashamed of themselves for putting their name on such a failure of a product. My partner and I both own Garmin watched but NEVER AGAIN will we buy a garmin product as your company has CLEARLY failed to develop products worth their customers money.

Great weight
Bought this about a month ago and it’s been great more accurate than my last scale and keeps it all together with my watch and app.

Good product - missing insights
I bought this recently and over all it does perform what is needed to track your metrics. That being said - for me - it is missing insights in the Connect App which cheaper smart scales have. For example, how is your body fat compared to your age bracket. Are you out of a good range with any of your metrics. I would give this 5 stars if the app had those basic features. I do think there was a missed opportunity in that area.

Still does not hook up to my wifi.
Weight inconsistent, does not note my posted name, took several tries.. Afraid to open my new Blood pressure device now... Does not hook up easily to my wifi. Need passwords! Unhappy I with it..

Disappointing
I bought the scale a while ago. After my withings scale broke The UI is kind of clunky but I can’t change the profile on the scale, it doesn’t connect my connect app — my partner weighed themselves on it before I did and now only their guest profile shows up. They weigh a lot less than me, garmin connect took their weights and messed up all my training readiness. There’s no simple way to delete the data or have the scale recognize my user. Very disappointing

Nice scale
Seems good. Easy to read screen. The different things it displays is cool. Don't like the fact I can't add my wife to it. Doesn't make sense that see has to open a Garmin account or whatever you have to do...

it does what its supposed to
I like it makes it easier for me since it automatically inputs the data into the Garmin app. The only trick I had to learn was how to get it to turn on consistently, do a double tap and it turns on.

Short battery life, erratic secondary measurements
Great for weight, not much else. Syncs easily. Buy rechargeable batteries, replaced 2x regular batteries in two weeks.
