Why We Like The Index S2 Smart Scale
Whether you're training for a tri, making a commitment to getting healthy, or just working on getting ready for summer, Garmin's Index Smart Scale makes sticking to your plan a whole lot easier. It does all the classic scale things: weighing in pounds, kilograms, and even stone. It also tracks body mass index, body fat percentage, bone mass, and skeletal muscle mass, all of which are important data points for high-level athletes. The Index can recognize and remember up to 16 different users, and of course it can sync to Garmin Connect, the online platform that lets you track and analyze all your workout data, so you can see exactly how your workouts correspond to your goals.

Integration
The scale does more than weigh you. It gives you an idea about other bodily stats. Plus, it feeds into my other health tracking data, and as a nerd, this is good for me. It also means that once I step on the scale and stand there a few seconds, I don't have to track anything more.

useless if you do not have a Garmin account
I bought this to put in one of our bathrooms. The other has a WIthings scale. They differ a bit in the weight (Garmin reports about 2% lighter and a lot less fat %). I am not sure which is correct. The big disappointment with the Garmin S2 is that you must have a garmin connect account to get anything but weight and weather from the scale. No body mass data, no water, no fat, nothing but the weight. No history either - but that makes sense if it does not know who you are. Other scales give all the data and store an Unknown user. The information for that user can be saved with an existing user or discarded. I would not recommend this to anyone because it requires accounts for users.

Average so far
I bought the S2 scale a couple of weeks ago. I had the previous version for quite some time, but it ran its course. The same issues I've been reading online are true about this scale. The accuracy of the body fat feature is still an issue. I've toggled the settings from 4 to 10, attempting to get a solid reading. It still list me as having double the body fat.

Really Smart Scale
Purchased a scale for my workout room. Haven’t figured out how to wake it up easily yet. I need to tap on it a few times before it starts. After that, the rest is automatic. It knows the difference between me and my wife. My other scale makes me select the user prior to stepping on. Data updates directly to Garmin Connect and I can see my weight trend along with sleep score and training readiness.

Love the integration but the accuracy is suspect
We are mostly a Garmin household, so we love the easy connection with Connect. This allows data to sync with My Fitness Pal and Training Peaks. Unfortunately, we do have issues with the weight being accurate and consistent. I often check the weight against a inexpensive Tanita in the other room. Zeroing and calibrating the scale sometimes works and sometimes it takes several tries to get things stable again.

It does what it says
The scale works well enough but is expensive for what it is. If I couldn't use my HSA I wouldn't have bought it. Features are nice but you take the stats with a grain of salt. Overall it's not bad but not amazing. It syncs well with the app but it's just ok.

It works very well
The Smart Scale is an excellent tool for controlling all the variables to get fit and healthy. However, the process of adding multiple users is complex and it required to reset the scale several times.

More Complicated than I Expected
Returned it. Too complicated. Very specific WiFi routers are supported. Had it a week. Spent about 10 hours on Setup. Gave up and returned it

Pair Daily
I bought this scale back in December and it worked great for about a month. Now I have to add it to my Connect app every single time I want to use it. Love the data, hate that it gets dumped from my app every single week.
