Outstanding (in the mud)

These are the first pair of MTB shoes that I bought in something like 15 years, to replace and ageing pair of Specialized Comps that self-destructed spectacularly. I wear these for cyclocross and for what the kids these days call gravel riding (which is what I used to call "cyclocross training). Exceptionally comfortable, the BOA closure is superb. They have holes for mudspikes, excellent lugs, and the soles are very stiff. They are probably too stiff for a lot of running, but they worked out great on muddy runups and barriers this cyclocross season. The stiffness was really welcomed powering out of mud and sand traps. I can't say enough good about these shoes. Let's hope that they last another 15 years.

I have been wearing these for a little over two years now. I do a combination of gravel rides and XC/trail riding with them. I am a size 46 in these (also for Specialized, Giro, Shimano, and Lake) and the fit is just right; neither too tight nor too roomy. I have just enough room to wear thick winter socks with them. My feet are medium-wide, and I haven't had any issues with the width. Pros: they are well-built, durable, and very comfortable. Not too stiff nor too flexible; I find they have just enough give without feeling like you are wasting energy when pedaling hard. I have done a 70-mile road ride in them without any issues, Cons: not the lightest nor the best ventilated (which is good in the winter), the single BOA dial makes fine-tuning the fit difficult (a minor nuisance for me).
