Summer Short-Sleeve Skin Layer

Assos is known for packing innovation and function into their cycling clothes, and the Summer Short-Sleeve Skin Layer brings new seamless construction with a touch of carbon fiber tech to your summertime riding. The fit feels next-to-skin to reduce bunching under a jersey, and the lack of seams takes care of any pressure points and irritation they might cause. Assos looked to carbon fiber to boost durability and added just a touch of it to the composition. The rest of the synthetic fabric wicks away sweat and moisture for more efficient cooling as you pour out the watts, and the lower cut neck hides away under most jerseys when zipped.

I have worn base layers for decades. This is the best I have ever worn. Assos is always a little nicer than other brands and this base layer is beautifully finished.

Better than the previous

Love this base layer and it's significantly better than the last base layer model Assos put out, I had some issues with bunching up around the neck on the previous model as where this one stays put while stretching where it needs to, Feels great outdoors with a jersey or even indoors without one, plus the stripe down the front is a nice touch. There is a little rubber feeling logo at the front but it's very low profile and hasn't given me any issues but I could see someone not liking this feature. I've owned this one for about half a year now and have zero complaints. I always use a super gentle wash cycle and air dry my kit which only preserves the integrity so I can't speak on durability if you wash your stuff however and throw it in the dryer.

Summer Comfort

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The base layer fits perfectly, close to the body but not binding in an uncomfortable way; think of it as supportive. Also, using a base layer is clearly superior to wearing just a jersey. Highly recommend at least trying one.

Best baselayer I've used so far

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I've tried the older skinfoil from assos and a Castelli along with some cheap ones from amazon and these are the softest and best fitting ones I've tried ever. The old skinfoil felt like a cheese grater on my chest and underarms so I had yo return it and Castelli was super small and felt like a napkin and would rip while putting it on. This baselayer is lightweight and breathable and wicks sweat so im not freezing when going downhill or getting slight breeze. I debated on using one for the summer but now I use this whenever I ride period. I get hot quick so idk if I'll be buying the winter baselayer but if it works as good as this one then maybe I'll have to try it out
