Swiss perfection.

Assos' new SS.mangussta_s7 Jersey was designed with the same attention to the most finite detail that you expect from Assos, only with the added benefits of new fabrics and a more comfortable, streamlined fit. In fact, the Assos SS.mangussta_s7 Jersey is based on the same design platform as the Swiss National Team's short sleeve jersey (also made by Assos), which means that you get the same technical fabrics as Cancellara and his teammates, but in colorways that're more suited to your personal style.

The majority of the SS.mangussta_s7 Jersey is constructed from the brand new Assos Textile Lab Development - Type 151 fabric. This innovative material was designed with body temperature regulation in mind, as its composition works to transfer moisture at varying rates. When your body is hot, and your perspiration levels are high, the material reacts by accelerating moisture transfer from your skin to the fabric's surface, where it dries quickly. Inversely, when your body cools down, the opposite results, where the evaporation process slows down, using body moisture as a means of retaining warmth. For additional body temperature control and increased moisture wicking, the SS.mangussta_s7's underarm panels have been constructed with Assos' highly elastic, lightweight mesh. The placement of this material provides you with both a free range of motion and enhanced breathability.

In terms of fit, the SS.mangussta_s7 jersey is situated between the SS.Uno_s7 and SS.Mille. This translates to a contoured fit that isn't too loose or too tight, complementing larger body types and those who prefer a smoothly stretching, supportive top over a compressive, race-cut jersey. Of course, this jersey, like all Assos jerseys, has been designed to accommodate the body within the cycling position. Accordingly, you'll find that the fit feels tight and oddly contoured while standing. However, the moment that you stretch to the hoods or get into the drops, you'll feel that signature Assos "click," and your ride will be guaranteed to be absent of any bunching, chafing, or pinching.

With two different fabrics, and twenty-four parts and components, comprising the S.mangussta_s7 jersey, you're able to ride assured that no detail was overlooked during the design process. Examples of this become apparent when looking at the small, but necessary, features that're built into the jersey. In addition to the three lower back panel pockets, a zippered "safety pocket" was sewn onto the right rear pocket, allowing you to stash your keys and cash, as well as route your headphone wires through the inside of the jersey. Other finishing touches include rear reflective visibility stripes, a covered, full-front zip, and an elastic/silicone hem at the rear.

The Assos SS.mangussta_s7 Jersey is available in seven sizes from X-Small to TIR (which translates to XXX-Large) and in the colors Black Volkanga, Blue Calypso, Red Swiss, White Panther, and Yellow Volt. According to the Assos Layering System ClimaRange, this jersey falls into both the spring.1 summer.2 categories. In English, this means that Assos recommends wearing it from around 65 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

I purchased the Assos SS.MANGUSSTA_S7 jersey as my first Assos piece of kit and I was not at all disappointed. The construction is top notch - fabrics feel robust, stitching is strong, sublimated graphics will never be a concern after washing and the jersey looks essentially brand new after a ton of washings. The zippered-pocket on the right is convenient for a house key, the other pockets eat everything up and hold whatever you put in them in place. The fit is fantastic and feels tailored - I have fairly small cyclist arms and a fairly narrow chest (about 37 inches) and waist (about 29 inches) and chose the small size. This jersey doesn't incorporate compression like my race jerseys do, but it is nearly race-cut. It still leaves enough room to comfortably fit a base layer for the sweaty days, though, and never feels restricting. The silicon gripper on the back keeps the jersey locked in place. My only gripe, and it's very minor, is that the dangling Assos logo on the zipper swings about and often knocks into my neck. It's not painful, but can be annoying. If I could take half-a-star for it, I would, but it's not so big a deal as to make-or-break the jersey. In the end, I'd highly recommend this jersey as a great training jersey or a racing jersey, if you're so inclined.

Extremely Comfortable

This is a great hot weather training jersey. The fit is quite standard, possibly large compared to some brands in my opinion. I am 5'6'', 150, and ordered a small. Perfect fit, almost a bit too large which is rare for a small jersey. My favorite aspect is the sleeve length, not too long, which seems to be the new trend with overly long sleeves.

a small size is almost a bit too large for you? We have the same height but my weight is about 116. I am thinking about XS and wonder if it is still too big for me. Any suggestion?

This Assos jersey fits me perfectly. Very form fitting and looks really nice on an athletic toned physique. Great functional pockets and the high quality material breathes well in the warm Arizona heat. I will be purchasing more Assos products in the future. Like I said, a considerable investment, but Im sure this jersey will last a very long time

Assos rocks! Just like they said, kinda feels a little off while standing upright. As soon as you're in riding position it all comes together and fits fantastic. The large size is perfect for my body style, athletic more than slim I guess.

A new Assos fan perhaps?

  • Fit: True to size

I've been a Giordana FRC fan for years and this is my first Assos product, it was on sale so I thought I'd give it a try. It's winter now so I haven't had the oportunity to ride in it but the quality looks good. I tried both the L and XL, (33 waist , 41 chest) and although the L was a little snug round the chest but I feel the XL has too much excess to flap in the wind. The front length is an inch or so shorter than my FRC jerseys which can expose a bit of skin when standing - riding position ok.
I'm keeping the L and looking forward to testing in the spring.

Assos; need I say more?

As with all Assos products, this is a superb piece !! It ventilates well, and fits beautifully without restriction. Most of my cycling/racing pals have no idea why I'd fork out the cash for these Swiss made beauties, but until you have used this quality of clothing you cannot understand. Once you do, you can't go back! Every article I own from Assos is so well conceived and works so far beyond anything else. I enjoy the sport and especially the 'suffering' but not due to discomfort of the clothing or the other equipment I use.. A crappy jersey or shorts is like a poorly made bike. This is simply the best.

We all have that favorite jersey - this is mine. The Mangussta's fit is superb, it is a snug fit, but certainly not a Italian race cut. You really understand the beauty and craftsmanship with this piece once you put it on and get on the bike. The jersey contours with the body when you are in the riding position. The fabric that Assos uses are always best in-class and this is no different. It is no wonder the Swiss National Team's is wearing basically the same design. If you are looking for a everyday riding jersey this is a great one. Top notch piece for a reasonable price. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions and/or concerns about fit. Best jersey ive worn so far, better than previous assos, castelli, rapha etc. Cut is slim and close for sure but it hugs your body perfectly without cutting off circulation or making awkward lumps or bunching. Im 6'1, 170 lbs use size M its great. Rear pockets are surprsingly large and roomy but wont sag or pull jersey down when stuffed full and fabric feels very strong despite light weight. Breathes like nothing else ive ever worn puts others to shame.

Disappointed. Not as good as before.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Very nice fit, if you get the right size. (5'11" 41" chest is size XL for me). Nice collar -- not the ultra-tall collar Assos has installed on most of their other jerseys this year. Now for the bad news: FIRST, the fabric on the back of the jersey is very stretchy. If you load a water bottle into a back pocket, the fabric will stretch and sag and the water bottle (or other heavy item) will end up hanging below your backside or falling out on the ground. This is different than any Assos jersey I've owned in the past. In fact, I purchased Assos in the past because the supportive material made it possible to carry full water bottles in the rear pockets without any worries. This is disappointing. SECOND, Assos means it when they say this jersey is designed for use with a base layer. Even with a skintight fit, if you don't wear a base layer, you may fall prey to dreaded nipple chafing. I haven't had this problem with any jersey in a very long time -- and never with a well-fitted jersey -- but I've had the problem with this one. I won't wear it again without a base layer. That's a shame, because I bought the jersey for hot weather when I would rather not wear a base layer. Assos makes the best bib shorts in the industry. Jerseys, not so much.

Why would anyone ride without a base layer?? I use the 'hot summer' version when the temps are above 85 degrees, and the truth is, we are actually cooler with the base layer, because the wicking and moisture management of the base and jersey are perfectly designed to work that way that way ! Base layers are NOT for warmth.. they are for moisture management and temperature control, all in the interest of comfort and efficiency. I disagree, Assos makes the best jerseys by far.. as well as everything else that they do. Their ALS system of base layers is clearly explained in their website.

As for the water bottles, gee that's what those hoopy things screwed to your frame are for. :^)

In my opinion, assos makes the best cycling clothing on the market today...and it also has the steepest prices. But the quality and performance of the garment leads the field for the person with the athletic bulges please!

    Great Jersey

    • Fit: Runs small

This jersey fits very well. Great coverage for my short but not so thin torso. Chest 40/42 and waist 31/32

    Beware- they changed the fabric

I have two Mangussta's I bought from CC about 1 year ago. The medium fits me race snug (I'm 5'11", 165 waist 30" chest 39") and the large still snug but a bit more comfortable. I LOVE THEM. I've tried several other brands and these are hands down my favorite. BUT... I just ordered and received a new jersey (white to go with yellow and red) and the jersey IS NOT THE SAME!. The fabric has clearly been changed. It is thinner and less stretchy and therefore less compressive. I'm not sure if this was a redesign or simply a change made to reduce cost. What gives ASSOS?!

      Great jersey

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: XL

Love this jersey. This is my every-day riding jersey for warm-hot weather. The cut is for an intermediate, somewhat aggressive riding position, which means it is fairly short in the front when standing. However, when on the hoods or in the drops it's perfect. I guess that's the Assos "click-on" thing.

Sizing on this runs small. I'm 5'11" with a 41" chest, and have to wear an XL in the SS.manggussta_s7. I tried the L, which the Assos size chart led me to, and it was obviously too small, both in front length (can you say belly shirt ?), and really tight through the shoulders and arms. Thanks to Competitive Cyclist's easy return and exchange policy, an XL proved to be perfect. It's snug, without being tight, and no excess bagginess to flap in the breeze. When the fit is right it works really well with the Assos skinFoil base layers, both summer and spring/fall.

Good stuff but watch the length.

      • Size Bought: XS

Received today and the product is quality. I bought a XS based on the size chart at 6' 1" 35.5" chest, 29" waist, 149 lbs.

However, belly jersey for me. I run a S in Castelli and Rapha for comparison.

Will be returning for a size S even though the size chart signifies that it would theoretically fit rather large on me.

I'm 5'7" 140-145. What size jersey would best suit me in the Assos jerseys? I wear a size small in the Mille S5 bib and a medium in the equipe S7 bib if that helps.

      SpiderMan or Hulk?

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Fits like a glove but keeps me cool in the sweltering DC summer heat and humidity. It's a bit fussy (wash in gentle cycle, inside out with only other cycling gear, etc) but boy oh boy does it hold all my stuff with nary a sag.

      Awesome Jersey

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Runs small, though. Size up one level when ordering..

      My new favorite!

I have a lot of jerseys that I love for a variety of reasons, but the Mangussta trumps them all.

The fit is snug; definitely aerodynamic in the shoulders, but the rest is a very comfortable form fit that isn't overly tight like most higher end jerseys these days. They really nailed the fit on this one.

While it may not feel like the thinnest or lightest jersey, it performs with the best on 100+ degree days due to Assos' amazing new 151 fabric.

Not only is the fit perfect, but I have never experienced any level of discomfort, temperature or otherwise with this jersey.

It is hands down my favorite jersey.

        Love it!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Assos does it again. A very well thought out and executed product that is everything and more you could possibly want on the bike. It's always a killer day when it's time to rock your Assos kit again!

I loved the intricacies of this jersey. Starting with the Assos Textile Lab Development - Type 151 fabric, which worked perfectly as advertised. Seriously, that fabric is nuts! Keeps you cool when you need to be cool, keeps your warm when you need to be warm. I also leave the ease of use of the pockets, which are deep enough to carry whatever you need (including a zipper pocket for your phone and wallet), but are just perfectly placed for an easy reach to on the bike.

The material is noticeably more durable than fabrics from other brands, while still remaining exceptionally comfortable and breathable for a wide range of temperatures. I like to pair this with the ASSOS NS.SKINFOIL_SUMMER_S7 - BODY INSULATOR, which is a system that works very well for keeping your core body temperature in check.

Sizing was spot on, on 5'10'' 160 lbs. and the medium is a comfortable fit. Could likely fit the smalls for a tighter fit if needed, but the medium fits well.

        Top-shelf jersey

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

        Personal stats:
        Waist: 32
        Chest: 39"
        Notes: longer torso than average.

I've had the pleasure of using this jersey on some long rides and would like to report some feedback. Assos recommends pairing this with their baselayer as that is how they designed the system for maximum effectiveness. I've used baselayers before with varied success. The Assos SS.skinFoilSummer baselayer paired with this jersey made an immediate impression on me as the best I've worn. We at Competitive are often spoiled with the chance to use top garments from the best companies in the industry. The Assos system is as advertised as far as fit, quality, and moisture wicking abilities. I would recommend this to the discerning customer who demands the best on the market. If you are curious and would like to know more, contact me directly at

You work for the company and provided no sizing information. Really? That applies to all people who go through the trouble of writing long product reviews, provide their measurements, and then do not say what size they got. Really? Useless.
