Are these gutter mounts universal?

Andrew, That is a great question. From what I have found these rain gutters will only be compatible with the Thule Gutter, the High Gutter, and the Super High Gutter foot packs. Let me know if you have any other questions. (801) 523-4066

Absolute Gold

I have a cap on the back of my full-size pick-up. These were super easy to install (just drill two holes each), and come with an awesome rubber backing piece that keeps those holes water-tight. Bars attach/detach easily, these little pieces accomplish their task perfectly and simply, I love them they were a great purchase.

Jeep Wrangler - Hard Top

I've put it through the wringer

I installed two of these gutters on my 2000 Jeep Wrangler, 14 years ago, to support the back cross bar. 14 seasons later, this set up may just outlast the car altogether.

I have some artificial rain gutters already...

I have some artificial rain gutters already mounted on my leer camper shell but they are mounted to the top. Will this still work with the towers?

If they are indeed artificial rain gutters in that they mimic the shape of rain gutters, they should work. But be advised that you may potentially void your Thule warranty if you use non-Thule artificial rain gutter brackets.

What is the maximum load for 1 pair of Thule Artifical Rain Gutters

What comes into play is te rest of the rack and what you're putting on it.

Generally--I say again...generally--most Thule and Yakima racks when set up properly hold up to 165 lbs. However, adding that much weight to the roof of your vehicle radically changes the center of gravity and may cause extremely adverse reactions when braking and/or maneuvering at high speeds. You should always attempt to keep weight up top to a minimum. And make sure your canopy can actually support what you plan on carrying up there. And the 165 lb. number I threw out their refers to all four towers--not just one pair. Always check your vehicle and canopy owner's manual in regards to weight limits, and observe all installation weight limit guidelines when purchasing car rack components.

Will this work with Yakima Raingutter...

Will this work with Yakima Raingutter towers as well?

Functionally, it might--because both mimic the once-common standard rain gutter found on older vehicles. But you likely will void the warranty if you match a Yakima bracket and Thule tower or vise versa.

Lack of flexibility for price

I had to buy bolts with full threads, since the ones provided were only threaded half way. Normally I can see this would be OK, but I mounted them to my VW camper van top, which is much thinner than "normal applications". I went with stainless steel too since, the provided bolts were only painted steel...expensive!!
