Stop in a flash.
We've never made it a secret that we favor SwissStop's Yellow King and Black Prince compounds for carbon braking surfaces. However, we've been noticing a recurring trend for those who aren't so carbon inclined in their wheel choices -- running stock brake pads. We'd like to say that life is too short for generic pads, and if you're running a poor brake compound, your life, too, might be shortened by steadily declining stopping power. Lucky for you, though, SwissStop's aluminum-specific brake compounds are held in just as high esteem as its carbon offerings. Case in point are the Full FlashPro BXP Brake Pads.
These pads feature SwissStop's BXP brake compound. And, as we've already stated, this compound has been designed for use with aluminum rims. But, you might be wondering what that actually means? Essentially, BXP is more firm than SwissStop's carbon compounds, adding increased durability, stopping power, and modulation into the aluminum fold. Additionally, BXP places a special focus on less than ideal weather conditions. So, you'll experience a consistent level of braking power, regardless of if it's dry or wet on the road.
The SwissStop Full FlashPro BXP Brake Pads are available in the color Blue and in one size. Please note that these pads are intended for use with aluminum rims, and that they are compatible with Shimano/SRAM 9-, 10-, and 11-speed road groups. Included in the brake package are two brake pads and two holders. Plan on picking up two if you're replacing front and rear pads.

Step 2 in my brake upgrade
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
When I re-cabled my road bike I installed a pair of FSA Gossamer brakes. The FSA brake calipers are great: solid and smooth. However, I was not impressed with the stock brake pads that came with the calipers. The stock FSA pads didn't feel decisive and they were some kind of one piece cartridge/pad combo so I needed cartridges and pads to make the switch to Swiss Stop. I've just taken a test ride and I am pleased with the performance of the swiss stop pads when paired with my FSA brakes.
One other thing, the pad holders are black (the photo on BC at the time I ordered these showed the pad holders to be bare metal.) Black goes better with my bike so I was pleasantly surprised.
Really blue? The description and ordering...
The description and ordering form say that these brakes are blue. But the picture shows black pads in silver holders. What colors are really available?
