Useless for running - won't stay up

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got these for running. This is my 4th pair of leg coolers I've (tried) to use, and at this point I'm about to give up. I'm 6', 165, athletic build and these in size Small were not only too tight on my calf and knee (ruining the whole point of wearing these, which is UPF protection), the thigh was too loose and simply falls down after about 10-15 paces. I have no idea what type of animal these are designed for, but they clearly aren't aimed at humans based on the difference in size between the calves and thighs. My 13" calves stretch them to the point of uselessness but they're so loose on 20" thighs that they fall down from walking 10 feet? Really?

I didn't even have to run in them to discover that; literally just trying them on in my living room and walking across the house, the thigh lets go and simply falls down. Getting another size down (extra small on a 6' guy? really?) *might* get them to stay up but the fabric would be stretched so tight on my calves and knees that they might as well not be protected from UV at all.

MAYBE these are okay for cycling. Maybe, if you have absolute thunder thighs and carrot sticks for calves. Would it really be that hard to just add a silicone band around the thigh so they actually stay up?
