Why We Like The Session MIPS Helmet

Style meets ventilation for total comfort in all-mountain applications in the new Smith Session MIPS Helmet. This all-new cranium coverage keeps your noggin on lockdown with a combination of Smiths Koroyd technology and MIPS, shielding you from impacts both direct and oblique, so you can charge through rowdy rock gardens while staying ventilated as you weave your way through technical switchbacks to the top for round two. And Smith doesn't hold back on the good looks either, with a modern and sleek style that falls neatly between the previously loved Rover and Forefront, giving just a little more coverage than its cross-country cousin, but with less bulk than the enduro-ready Forefront.

Uncomfortable

Two things: The liner padding so thinned out after 20 or so rides that the helmet now digs into. my forehead. And around the nape of your neck, the fitment system has zero padding. The plastic "pads" grab your skin and it's not comfy from day 1. By the end of a long ride, I couldn't stand how this helmet felt, especially if I was sweaty. Bummer.

Great for the Whole Family

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Incredibly lightweight but sturdy helmet that can be easily adjusted! The whole family loves them and it is great that there are several designs to choose from.

The verdict is still out

Let me begin by saying that I have worn Smith sunglasses for several decades and love them. Due to this I decided to try a Smith Helmet. Still working on the fit. Helmet drops down and obscures my field of vision, I've tried every adjustment I can. Also, the sunglasses retainer doesn't work without destroying the ear pads on your glasses due to the honeycomb liner.

Great Design!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this a month ago and love the design and the color. I always buy Smith because of their lifetime warranty. My measured head circumference was in between the small and the medium so I bought both to send one back and definitely needed the medium size.

Good but lacks sunglasses holder

Decent helmet, the fit is nice, feels great while I ride but it’s lacking any convenient place to put my sunglasses which is very annoying during a ride

Dreads and cool head

A comfortable helmet that keys my skin breathe and fits my head and dreads! Flexible and MIPS so I’m protected and bright orange more visible for when the lights are not enough at night . No matter how many reflectors in your spokes drivers are surprised by our presence .

Great helmet but pulls your hair out!

I've had this helmet for about a year and I do like everything about it, except that everytime I take it off it pulls out my hair. Hair gets stuck in the yellow circles. For the price I would've hoped they atleast had some covers to keep hair from being stuck.
