Why We Like The Ruckus ChromaPop Sunglasses

The Ruckus Chromapop Sunglasses are Smith's premiere performance sunnies, and we love them for cycling, running, and working out under the bright sun. Smith's most innovative lens technology, Chromapop enhances overall clarity by filtering out secondary colors to make natural colors really pop. The Ruckus also has a unique frame that lets us switch out lenses easily, and the included bonus lens shows us the difference right out of the box.

Great Sunnies

Great quality with the fit and build. Having the rose lenses is great for low light or even nighttime. Second pair of this model that I have owned due to the craftsmanship of the product. Will buy again if needed.

2 for the price of one

They're expensive, but you get a lot for your money. Most of the time, the second lens you get with a pair of sunglasses is just clear plastic junk that fogs, smears, and is generally terrible. Both of the included lenses here are stellar. I was concerned the mirrored lenses would be a little to dark for road riding with a lot of tree cover, but everything pops and the color enhancement makes picking out potholes easier than without them. Switch to the lowlights for mountain biking and trail running and it's the same story, perfect optics and wipe down well. Both lenses clear fog quickly, which is important when you have to throw on a mask, or are smashing your legs up a climb. Also Pivlock is genius. Easy to swap out lenses and it doesn't stress the lens or frame which seems good for longevity.

Don't realize that I have them on

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Bought the amber / rose lenses. And went for Ruckus, because there were too many negatives about the magnetic lens-changing setup. Comfort: Find myself repeatedly touching my nose to see if they are on. This is especially true w. the rose lenses on a cloudy day ... am I really wearing sunglasses? Amber lenses definitely mess your color vision, but provide sharper image definition. Worth it. Was considering getting darker lenses for the cloudless days, but added a canopy instead (ride a recumbent trike). Cleaning: Use Dawn dishwashing soap & tap water. Rinse everything (lenses, nose piece, frame) with tap water. Put a few drops of soap between your fingers & rub everything down. Rinse, and dry with a microfiber cloth. Why I bought these: Have Maui Jim glass sunglasses, but was taking too many hits from small stones hitting my eyes from cyclists passing me. (One lens cracked.) Bottom Line, these are for eye protection above everything else.
