Nastro Cuscino Bar Tape
Inspired by nontraditional materials, Silca offers a glimpse into the possible future of bar tape with the Nastro Cuscino. Not satisfied with the available grip and wear-resistance of standard bar tape, Silca looked to car racing tires and running shoe foam in contemplating the next advancement in handlebar tape. The Nastro would already be quite cushy with its 3.75mm of thickness, however, the equivalent cushioning delivered is a staggering 5.0mm, compared to traditional materials. This results in improvements in rebound over rough road and off-road conditions. Providing three to five-times more durability than standard bar tape, the Nastro may extend its lifespan well beyond a calendar year, depending on your riding characteristics.
Silca adds to the creature-comforts of the Nastro with ease of installation as the brake clamp cover is butterfly shaped for better coverage; and the laser-engraved aluminum bar-plug expands to dial in the finish.

Extra-Cushy Bar Tape
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Weight:
- null
This bar tape is extremely thick and tacky in the best way. Took all the chatter away on a 50 mile gravel ride. Also great for lunch rides because I prefer a more tacky grip than traditional bar tapes. Yes, the price and the installation are a bit of a struggle, but I believe this product's strengths greatly outweigh its weaknesses.
