As its most successful race tire, the Racing Ralph TL Ready 26-inch Tire, uses Schwalbe's lauded tread pattern, PaceStar compound, and TL casing to satisfy the weight weenies. That the tread pattern is designed for flat-out speed means that it loses a little ground to the Rocket Ron when it comes to ultimate grip, but not by much.
As stated, the Racing Ralph uses Schwalbe's PaceStar Triple Compound with a hard center tread that gets progressively softer compounds towards the edge. This provides faster rolling characteristics with excellent cornering traction. Which brings us to the Racing Ralph's tread pattern.
The low-profile tread of the Racing Ralph is fast, and with the U-Block shoulder tread, it still holds its own in the turns. These tread blocks are angled at 20 degrees, or so, towards the outside of the tire. They work to counteract the lateral forces endured when cornering in order to maintain traction and to keep the bike stable.
The tire is designed to be tubeless ready (TL). A tubeless system allows you to run less air pressure, again enhancing the grip of the tire's tread. And in case you needed convincing, increased traction, less vibration, and no flats lead to a better ride. It's necessary to use a liquid sealant within the tire in order to seal the bead and to quickly seal debris punctures on the trail.
The Schwalbe Racing Ralph TL Ready is available in the color Black and with either a 2.1 or 2.25-inch width.
