Why We Like The Santa Cruz Heckler C MX GX Eagle Transmission e-Bike
From getting to that previously out-of-reach trail system to doing all-day laps at our favorite downhill trails, the Santa Cruz Heckler is our weapon of choice when we need a bike that can go the distance while also being super capable. We love the Heckler for its ability to take us further and faster, keeping us from becoming too tired and boosting our ride experience. With a slack 64.8-degree head tube angle and a 76.7-degree seat tube angle in the high setting, the Heckler allows for confident downhill shredding while keeping us in an efficient position when climbing. With a mixed-wheel setup, we have basically two bikes in one, with the efficient-rolling 29-inch wheel up front handling the rollover capabilities and carrying our speed. In contrast, the agile 27.5-inch wheel in the rear allows for a sharper turning radius and enhanced agility. A Shimano EP8 motor is more powerful and lighter than previous versions, helping to boost us up those technical climbs and making the overall bike weight lighter. An interchangeable 730Wh battery means we can take out the spent battery and plug in a fresh one without worrying about charging for tomorrow's ride. The Heckler has integrated chainstay and downtube protectors to protect from rock strikes and chain slaps, and a shock fender keeps our rear suspension clear from rear tire mud spray.
The MX GX Eagle Transmission AXS build of the Santa Cruz Heckler is equipped with quality components, an electronic drivetrain, and sports great value. Santa Cruz fitted this version of the Heckler with SRAM's GX Eagle Transmission AXS drivetrain, providing us with the most precise and reliable electronic shifting on the market. Next, RaceFace ARC HD 30 rims paired with E13 SL hubs combine to make a top-quality wheelset that is durable, stiff, and lightweight. Maxxis Assegai and DHRII tires with front and rear-specific casings give us the traction we need when sending it downhill. A RockShox Zeb Select+, or a Fox 36 Performance Elite, 170mm fork handles the big hits and keeps us confident on the downhills, while the RockShox Super Deluxe Select+ rear shock keeps us in contact with the dirt and soaks up trail vibrations for a smooth ride.
