Problem solved.

We’re fans of Shimano’s BB92 press fit standard, but what do you do if your new bike has this extra-wide, super-stiff, bottom bracket standard, and you want to run a crankset with a 30mm spindle? Well, the good folks at Race Face came up with the Cinch BB92 bottom bracket to make your predicament a non-issue.

Due to it being designed to match the stunning Next SL crankset, it’s no wonder that Race Face pulled out all the stops in the production of this bottom bracket. It started with custom 19 ball bearings, which use a higher ball count to increase strength. This is essential, because Shimano’s cranksets use a 24mm spindle. When making the jump to a 30mm spindle, there’s less room for the bearing, which, all things being equal, could easily impact its strength. But with this custom bearing, the strength has been regained, so you need not fear premature bearing wear. It gets filled with Phil Wood bearing grease, long regarded as one of the very best options for high-wear bearings on your bike. And the plastic inner sleeve protects the bearings from whatever liquids might leak into your bottom bracket shell.

not the most resistant BB

    Race face installed very small bearings in order to make the 30mm diameter. This leads to infant failure of the BB. At $50 the replacement is not the best option.

    Beyond fantastic

    Giving 5 Stars because more stars are not available. In Feb 2015 I bought this BB and a set of Race Face Next SL cranks for my Scott Spark. I raced the spring and fall series (12 races) and rode a total of 8500 miles in 2015. I bought a new Race Face BB92 BB and planned to replace the original in December in preparation for the 2016 season. But when I removed the cranks and checked the BB, it was still buttery smooth and solid. So I trained and raced the 6 spring season races with no BB issues. May 2016 I started a ride on my Scott Spark from Houston, TX to Sacramento, Ca (2800 miles with 100,000+ ft of climbing) with several full days of rain, many 100+ degree temperature days, and some days below freezing...still no issue with the BB. I did carry the spare BB with me, JUST IN CASE. After getting back home I checked everything on the bike. I changed the cables, housings, chain, cassette, and chainring. But the BB was still solid, so I left it in the frame. 2016 ended with almost 9000 miles on the Spark. Once again, December was on schedule to replace the BB...still buttery smooth, the original Race Face BB92 stayed in my bike . Fast forward through 2017 to August 23rd. I sold the bike. I never changed the BB with nearly 20,000 miles on it. I did, however, give the spare BB to the new owner, along with the Race Face BB92 BB history. Given the choice of a Race Face Cinch BB92 BB or any other BB, I'll take the Race Face. Thank you.

    Solid For The Price

    This BB came stock on my bike and lasted a solid 2 seasons of riding until it started creaking. I'm OK having to replace it with a new one at this point .

    These things wear out the day you buy them. 41mm hole with 30mm spindle... you do the math. Complete crap creeked and made noise for 1.5 years of riding until I replaced with enduro bb92 kit with no shell. Now my crank is buttery smooth and solid. Can’t believe all the 5 star reviews.

    Just what I needed to upgrade to Cinch

    Bought a used bike with outdated components while I learn to ride trails. Upon destroying my previous crank, I decided to swap modern parts to my 2015 Trek. Decided on the RF Cinch crank and this was the BB needed for my bike. Components seem to be well built and hopefully a little green Loctite will keep things from creaking. Multiple options for fat bike builds. Can't go wrong with Raceface.

    Unanswered Question

    Is this compatible with e*thirteen TRS cranks? I'm looking to replace a BB on a gen 1 Ibis Ripley that has been chewing through bearings. Thanks.

    Had to grab one of these for my Pivot Mach 5.5 build. Paired with a Race Face Sixc crank set and have been super happy with it! No creaky noises here!

    I have a Sram BB30 Quarq and needed to pair to my Giant Propel. I tossed this sucker in and tossed the center section to make it BB92 and so far so good. No creaking and super quality build.

    Rarely seen, never heard

    Your bottom bracket should be something you rarely look at, and never hear. I've had 3 Cinch PF style BBs on varying bikes, and never had cause to look at them. Smooth and silent, just as a good bottom bracket should be.

    How long service can a person expect from one? I had Hope Pressfit 41 on my Yeti 4.5c. The drive side bearing got rough after only 7 months of casual riding.

    Works just fine. Make sure your compatibility is correct before you order; frames have different BB shell sizes and compatibility for cranksets.     Fits the Mach 6

      Most important thing with a Bottom Bracket, make sure it fits your frame and crankset. This Race Face Cinch BB92 slipped right into my new Pivot Mach 6 and has worked great so far, my bike pedals like a machine.

      The right bottom bracket for you if you have a Pressfit 92 bike (like a modern Giant, Trek, or Pivot) and want to run a Race Face Cinch Crankset (like Next SL, SIXC, Turbine, Atlas, or Aeffect). Presses into the shell easily and after a full season of riding has not had any creaks. Not compatible with any other crankset besides RF Cinch.

      so this BB is compatible with Shimano XT hollow tech crankset? Is this pressfit?


      No. This is for Race Face Cinch cranks with a 30mm spindle. For a Shimano crank, use a Shimano BB-MT800-PA bottom bracket.
