Portland Design Works Sodapop Frame Mount Fenders $21.00
Recycling's never looked better.
Sure you could cut up, zip-tie, and epoxy a bunch of empty two-liters together to fashion a makeshift fender. But, unless you're delivering food aboard a lead-sled, big-box store monstrosity then it's going to look a little out of place on your beloved bicycle. Not mention, the effort and time involved would most likely exceed the cost of the Portland Design Works Sodapop Frame Mount Fenders.
Like those DYI fenders though, the Sodapop Fenders are manufactured from post-consumer recycled beverage bottles. They're tough and install easily -- and they look great, too. The Sodapop Fenders come in two widths to fit most city or mountain frames. If it's a mountain bike that you're looking to add weather protection to, you'll need a fork with a hole in the crown.

These fenders are mediocre.
Pros: If they fit on your bike they are easy to attach. Decent coverage.
- The rear fender didn't fit on one of my bikes, because the space between the seat stays is too narrow.
- The front fender gets in the way of my toes if I turn at low speed. Sooner or later I feel like the fender is going to break because of this.
- Front fender doesn't stick out forward as far as I would like, meaning that I still get front tire spray in my face if it's really wet.
I ride year 'round in the Pacific Northwest and I've used a lot of fenders. I have yet to find a great pair but these are definitely not it.
