A lightweight hydration pack for fast-moving adventures.

Lightweight, versatile, and compressible, the Marmot Kontract 10 Hydration Backpack is the mid-sized offering from the Kontract line, making it great for longer day hikes and final summit pushes. The bag comes equipped with Marmot's Shape-Shift reservoir for quick hydration, and it has enough room to bring an extra layer, camera, and lunch along on your mountain and desert adventures. A zippered lid pocket keeps your map close for quick reference, and access into the main compartment can be done through the top or through the side zip access point. Daisy chain gear loops provide a spot to attach any gear you might need for the day's objective, and the compressible design lets you cinch the bag down tight when you're hiking light.

Does what it needs to

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

-Comfortable design
-Head pocket kept valuables dry (tested while kayaking)

-The bottom of the bag does not occupy similar volume as the middle of the bag. When stacking small books inside, they will not sit flush at the bottom of the bag.
-Difficult to place water sac back into pouch
-Awkward clipping to secure water pouch
-Water tastes like plastic (I have washed multiple times and have ran at least 20 gallons through it)

Great bag for riding the ski lifts!

I purchased the Marmot Kontract 10 Hydration Backpack due to its sleek design. It holds the gear that I need while skiing all day long and isn’t so bulky that I feel like I’m going to fall off the ski lifts. I was able to cram a fleece jacket and a pair of gloves into the bag without much issue. The top pocket is just large enough for a phone and a pair of sunglasses. The two-liter Hydrapak was great when temperatures were above 20°F but the tube froze up on me several different days. (it is not insulated)
