Good price = good energy.

Blending ventilation, deep coverage, and lightweight construction, Kali Protectives' Chakra Helmet is a sweet lid. It's less expensive than the Chakra Plus helmet, because it doesn't get that helmet's second bug net replacement liner and it features a monochromatic finish, rather than the Plus' multi-colored approach, but you get all the same protection and features, and at a very fair price.

Using in-mold construction, the Chakra's low-density EPS foam is bonded to a lightweight, polycarbonate shell, which allows it to tip the scales at an impressive 330 grams. The in-mold technology helps this helmet pass CPSC safety standards, while 22 large vents, what Kali refers to as an Airflow System, channel cooling air for comfort during summer months. An adjustable chin strap keeps the Chakra in place, and a breakaway visor helps ensure safety in a crash. For easy cleaning, the wicking interior pads are removable for washing.

Easily adjustable and comfortable

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This helmet is very easily adjustable and feels comfortable once you have it fit right. I also love all the openings in it, so you don't feel too sweaty with a helmet on during a summer bike ride.

Unanswered Question

Can you unsnap the visor and replace it like you can with some bell/giro models ?
Or when it breaks away is it off for good ?

Great value

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: xs/s

I purchased the Chakra for my girlfriends son. I was impressed by the construction and well made retention system. This is an adult sized helmet, but fit perfectly on a seven year old.

Great budget helmet

If you're looking for a cheap brain bucket for mountain biking, you're in the right place. Build quality is impressive for a helmet in this price range, as is the adjustment system. Plenty of vents to keep you cool in Moab, it weights next to nothing, and it even looks pretty cool. I bought the Hi-Viz orange for trail riding, but I've also been using it while commuting because it really does live up to the name - it's extremely bright and makes you pretty hard to miss.

Minus one star because the velcro that holds the pads in is pretty wimpy and will need some reinforcement at some point - but that's the only real fault I can find.

I have a large, oddly shaped head (ladies, contain yourselves) and the M/L fits comfortably with no movement once I have the adjustment knob cranked down.
