Why We Like The Furtado Carbon C R Mountain Bike
Made with the same genre-blending frame from the Tallboy, the Juliana Furtado Carbon C R Mountain Bike comfortably gets us up and down any kind of terrain. The Furtado doesn't let up whether it's cruising fun local cross-country loops or hitting more aggressive trails on the weekends. With its genre-blending Virtual Pivot Point(VPP) linkage, we get a bike that's as capable on technical climbs as it is on the descents. Riding this carbon-framed trail bike tempts us to do a weekend cross-country and enduro event on the same bike.
Geometry on the Furtado is as dialed as we expect a modern-day trail and cross-country bike to be. With a slack, steep, and long treatment detailing the frame from the head-tube all the way to the rear axle. The new frame design has been outfitted with a 65.4° head-tube angle and that's paired with a 27.5in wheel. The smaller wheel helps us pick lines through technical chunder and the slacked-out head-tube angle has us approaching big features with confidence. The seat-tube angle is a nice and aggressive 77°(size M), meaning churning up big fire roads is more manageable than ever.
This bike comes kitted out with SRAM componentry nearly from top to bottom. We climb up big 'ol hills with the huge range provided by SRAM's Eagle drivetrain. The RaceFace wheels come in a 30mm internal width and support extremely grippy tubeless Maxxis tire to get os down a variety of terrain. A mix of Rockshox and Fox suspension controls the bike when things get rowdy, both front and rear being high-quality components with much of the same features as their more expensive siblings. 4-piston hydraulic brakes put on a stop quickly, especially when things get a bit too wild and out of control.
The new Juliana Furtado promises to be one of the most fun bikes in our lineup. This 27.5in wheeled machine is as comfortable on the descents as it is on the climbs, and the dialed geo and spec has us more confident and comfortable than ever when things get hairy. Juliana builds this bike for those of us who aren't just here to race, but want to crush trail during the week too. This bike has us more confident than ever, and having more fun than we've had aboard any other bike.
