Frame too wide
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Runs large
I bought these hoping the women's specific fit would work for my narrow face. They are still too wide, letting in light on the sides, hampering the ability to provide proper sun protection on snow/glacier travel. On the flip side, they fit my boyfriends face well, so now he gets to enjoy them in his quiver of mountaineering gear. :-) Only downside he has reported on these, is that the extra inserts for additional sun protection easily fall out (as many reviews have stated). Probably best to super glue them in, to risk losing them when outdoors.

Still too big for small woman's face
- I returned this product before using it
I purchased these in search of a pair of sunglasses designed for glacier travel and high altitude mountaineering. I have a small face and head. Despite being a "women's specific" fit, these are still too large. They stay on my face, just barely, but still allow a lot of light in. I can tilt my head forward and look over them! Not at all what you want for eye protection and light bouncing off snow. Also, because the top of the frame sits well above my brow they run into may hat or helmet. After some searching I did find a smaller pair by Julbo at REI, the Dolgan Glacier. The dolgan's also have a larger side shield, providing better wrap around protection. The Spectron 4 lenses and lightweight frames on both these glasses are great, just terrible fit with the monterosa.

glasses for sensitive eyes
- I've used it several times
- True to size
My eyes are really sensitive to bright sunshine in all seasons. I'm always squinting and having to close my eyes against the sun. The lenses on these glasses take all of the glare away and make the bright light easy to deal with. The side shields also block light from the periphery, again helping my eyes sensitivity. I have the plum/pink and the color is a bit darker than in the photo so it doesn't really look plum - darker than that and going towards brown. The pink on the sides is really pretty. They're definitely sized for women. Not oversized at all and really just perfect. My face is a bit small so big glasses can be overwhelming. They're probably a bit small for men. Overall a great purchase. I'm sure they're going to amazing blocking snow glare this winter!

I always have an issue with the sun coming through from the side - good to know julbo sorted it on these sunglasses

Great in the moutains
- I've put it through the wringer
I bought these sunglasses primarily in preparation for a few upcoming glacier climbs, but have used them every time I go out hiking in the mountains. When I'm not on snow/glacier, I just pop off the side shields and they are perfect. With the side shields on, I find that the glasses tend to fog up if I have a balaclava or buff over my mouth, but it's a better alternative to snow blindness I suppose. After a long day of wearing them, I find that I have a slight headache from the small amount of pressure they apply on my temples, but putting them on the outside of my hat halfway through the day avoids that.

Awesome protection, active fit
- I've put it through the wringer
- Runs small
For shorter trips where the side-blind protection of true glacier glasses isn't necessary, these are perfect. Awesome at high altitude. Not for big faces but fit perfect on most smaller faces and heads. I haven't tested yet with all helmets but work well with Petzl and Giros. Obviously attractive as someone who likely knew nothing about Julbo stole em. Just waiting for next ski season to get a new color

The Monterosa's are just the sunglasses I have been looking for. The Spectron 4 lenses are perfect for the intense high desert Colorado sunshine that I live with. You can hear your eyes breathing a sigh of relief with these on your face. I tried Julbo's photochromatic lenses (Julbo Track Light) and when push came to shove, I had to admit that they did not provide enough protection. As for fit: I tend to run small around the eyes and have a problem with many sunglasses jutting out and allowing the glare in and creating an unflattering look. Not so with these; they hug my face almost perfectly. They do initially feel a bit tight behind the ears, but i am hoping with time they will loosen. Your eyes will thank you and you'll look too cool for words...what more can you ask for...
