- All three flavors mix easily and have a surprisingly light, refreshing taste

- Caffeine (in all except grape flavor) increases mental acuity, increases performance, and decreases perceived effort, all of which tend to go south during prolonged activity
- Taurine combats heart and skeletal muscle fatigue
- Beta-Alanine and Histidine help buffer acid caused by going over lactate threshold
- Amino acids help prevent muscle damage and aid with muscle recovery

Great for long rides!
I struggle to get enough calories in when riding 30+miles of single track. This helps greatly in reducing burnout and the sick and weak feel if I didn't get enough calories. I recommend the grape but all the flavors are pretty good.

Better than Expected

Summertime triathlon training in Florida is no picnic and without proper hydration,it can be downright dangerous. The Roctane drink mix from GU has been my go-to for a few years now. The best feature about it in my mind is that it doesn't have a heavy or overpowering consistency. With other products I've had to water them down in order to get them to agree with my system, taking away from the benefits they provide. That's not the case here, Roctane mixes well and provides the necessary nutrients to keep you going.

Everything You Need

Roctane's got all the goods like carbs, amino acids, electrolytes and a hint of caffeine to keep you going. I like this, paired with Roctane gels, during long climbing approaches, multipitch climbs, and mountain bike rides. Grape tastes pretty darn good.

GU Roctane Energy Drink Mix
Our Roctane Energy Drink Mix is our all-in-one source of Energy and Hydration. While it can be your primary fuel source, it also works to supplement energy from gels and other nutrition. Each serving delivers 250 calories from a carefully designed blend of complex and simple carbohydrates that use dual-pathways for efficient absorption.

My body feels a difference.

I used another brand for all my bike needs until I tried GU Roctane. If you are training and doing long rides, this is the stuff to have in your water bottle. For awhile I was on a all nature kick and tried to use only water OR tired to make my own drinks. That is fine and dandy until your body starts begging for more. Dehydration is not something to play around with and can land you in the hospital. I think that the flavor is smooth and taste great. Just like any other drink mix, I would recommend trying a small batch before buying the big container. It works great with some people, but not everyone.

I notice a difference

I use this for mountain biking, and it works better than any other drink I've used, especially when I'm doing longer rides and tougher, sustained climbs. I pair it with the GU Roctane gels as my fuel of choice. Expensive, but worth every penny. Compared to what I spend on gear and components, and even gas, it's a completely reasonable expense. Taste is fine, I guess. Who cares? it's not a meal, it's an energy drink. I prefer the caffeinated models (Lemon-Lime & Tropical Punch), but I rotate them out so I have the option of going decaf (Grape), and so I don't get burned out any one flavor. The Tropical Punch and the Grape are both better than the Lemon-Lime in my opinion. It has a sort of artificial taste to it that's not the best, but again, I need variety sometimes. It helps if it's cold, so I run it in a Camelbak Podium Chill bottle preloaded with ice, even in the winter (I'm in So Cal, so hey...). The ice melts during the ride and keeps things pretty cold. I just shake it before taking a drink, and it keeps it well mixed and chilled.
