Stay dry to the bone.

The Gore Bike Wear Fusion 2.0 GT AS is constructed from both Gore-Tex Active Shell and Stretch fabrics. These fabrics are fully waterproof to keep you dry. At the same time, they are also breathable so that moisture buildup from sweat is moved to the outside of the jacket to keep you dry. The fit is designed to be form fit so that it won’t catch excess wind on your ride and slow you down. The cut has been contoured so that there isn’t any bunching at the elbows when you bend your arms, and the waist opening is adjustable with a drawcord. There is only one zippered pocket on the chest, but the Fusion will easily fit over full jersey pockets and keep all the contents dry. Reflective logos have been added to the front and back to increase your low-light visibility.

A couple of issues

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

The jackets obvious benefits are that it is completely rain/wind proof and doesn't cause you to overheat like some jackets I've used. The fit is a bit weird compared to other Gore products I've used. I bought an XXL which because of their snug/race fit on most of their items fits me perfect. This one had the right sleeve/body length but a huge mid section that would fit a 300 pound rider (I'm 6' 3", 225 lbs) and so it is very baggy and hangs down quite a bit but I really don't have any issues with that. Two things that I do have issues with are 1- the zippers are made for toddlers. WAAAAAAY to small to grip with gloves on and I have to struggle to zip/unzip unless pulled over and stopped. 2- the velcro on the sleeves is pretty useless. They have like 3 dots instead of a strip which is the norm. It's hard to have the velcro fit on the exact dot so that it stays secure. Overall a nice jacket but could be much nicer with a few adjustments.

Best Gore-Tex For Cycling

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Active shell is hands down the best Gore product I have ever used for a high-output activity. Being a 100 day a year skier, a hiker, and cyclist, I have used numerous different Gore Products, from Pac-Lite, to Windstopper, to their high end Pro Shell, there is nothing I would rather use for high output activities than Active shell. This is the most breathable jacket that is water proof. I use it riding in the fall and spring, as well as when I am touring in the backcountry in the winter. Absolutely top notch breath ability and waterproofing.

Keeps you Dry!

I love my new Gore Fusion Jacket and tested it recently on a very wet ride to the Oregon Coast! It performed flawlessly as I stayed dry and didn't get clammy. The gortex "active shell" technology is superior to anything I've tried yet for high energy aerobic sports. Note, this is my second active shell jacket so I know from experience. Other things that make this jacket a five star for me is the extreme lightweight and the super fit (in between race tight and relaxed club fit). Enjoy... you can't go wrong!

    Great Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this jacket. Perfect for a waterproof outerlayer or a little added warmth on a windy day. Very well made. Light and packable. I use it on rainy/snowy rides in the 25-40 degree range. I also wear it off the bike on rainy days when I need a shell. I'm 6'0 165 and a L fits great.
