When appropriate, we all want to stay warm. More often than not, though, Mother Nature has other plans. For this reason, Gore Bike Wear designed its new Base Layer WindStopper Singlet. When employed as part of a weather-appropriate layering system, this first layer helps to block cold winds from chilling your core, so that uncontrollable shivering doesn’t take the fun out of your ride.
For its construction, Gore combined a polyester knit with its proprietary WindStopper membrane. As a 100% windproof fabric, Gore’s WindStopper was incorporated at the front, shoulders, and kidney panels in order to keep your core warm. In addition to being windproof, the WindStopper membrane is also breathable and quite efficient at managing moisture. In fact, by transporting moisture from the skin to the surface of the fabric, this membrane keeps you dry and comfortable. And because cool temperatures won’t stop you from working up a sweat, the rear window has been constructed of a polyester blend to vent any excess heat.
Gore constructed this base layer around a contoured fit. Accordingly, this top is designed for the cycling position, meaning that it will move with you instead of binding and bunching. Along these lines, Gore also incorporated flatlock stitching for the seams. This provides an even closer fit, while also doing away with the risk of chafing at the seams.
The Gore Bike Wear WindStopper Base Layer Singlet is available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in the colors Black and Light Grey/white.
