Great for cycling, not so comfy for walking.

Very tight around the ankles at first, started thinking I should've ordered a half-size up but they're much comfier after breaking in. Leave the ankle laces a little loose so your ankles can still move, don't tighten them too much. These are definitely shoes for cycling and not so much walking around, actually protected one of my ankles in a crash already too.

My favorite mid-top mountain bike shoes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They fit just like my 510 Freeriders. Wanted more protection for the trails. After riding a few hours at a bike park, we were walking and I realized I hadn't thought of my feet at all. That's probably the best thing I can ever say about protective gear: that I forget it's on.

Super stiff all over, gave me blisters

I wore these for just a few hours and the ankle coverings started to give me blisters because of how stiff they were. The shoes are also very difficult to put on with a narrow opening. I had to unlace the top loop just to be able to put my foot in the shoe. Once inside there's room. My low top canvas Fives are really great but not these high tops.

Stoked on the sweet kicks!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use these boots mostly for trail building. The smooth but sticky soles keep me in place but do not tear up the trails. the mid height give great ankle support but still allows me to shape jumps and berms!

Virtually un usable unless I like claw toes.

Just a heads up, 13s are like an 11.5 in real life. I always wear 13s, sometimes 12s. I heard the impact pro mids might run small but they didn't have 14s last year when I ordered. So I bought the 13s and found out how tight they are unfortunatley. It's too bad for me because the shoes seem good quality. I wish addidas would make these in larger sizes. I'm under the impression they don't even make them anymore.

not practical beyond 5 minutes on carpet.

look is super nice but they are not comfortable, they are stiff as a tire. I have two other low cut 5/10's green suede and grey canvas which are comfortable, but these as someone else said are "built like a tank" I returned them.

The most protective confidence inspiring shoe

These are incredibly protective and give you a bug confidence boost because of that. If you ride technical and rough downhills on flat pedals, these are unbeatable. I had the regular version before but recommended the high top for the added protection and stability.

Properly solid mtb boot but I wish they were waterproof.

Excellent protection - flying stones just bounce off harmlessly. Excellent grip - both on and off the bike, even in snow. Excellent support - just the right level of stiffness for aggressive riding without being uncomfortable... once the top is broken in a bit - the first few rides I found uncomfortable at the top lace-hole but these do break in like walking boots or work boots. Better sized than some 510 shoes - much roomier than my Freerides. Unfortunately not waterproof - to be fair, they don't claim to be but in such a substantial, protective shoe a waterproof option would be nice. This is a robust enough shoe/boot for a goretex liner to work effectively. It is the only downside I can see to these and the only thing keeping me from rating them 5 stars.
