Get out and shred.

The Five Ten Women's Freerider Shoes add subtle styling to technological features made to shred the gnarliest of trails. In a world of neon trimmings and flashy personalities, these shoes are a contrast of muted colors that let your riding skills take center stage.

Five Ten's non-marking Stealth Phantom rubber was developed for rock climbing shoes. As such, it has excellent grip, which makes it super easy to keep your feet on the pedals. Just think, no shinburger for dinner... again. It's also super durable, which isn't a surprise since the climbing shoes it was first developed for had to suffer the wear and tear of hard granite cliffs for hours on end.

The Freerider Shoes may just have a tougher job. They have to endure the prodding from the metal spikes on your pedals all day, but the Stealth Rubber can take it. Five Ten Stealth Rubber soles will outlast the gum rubber sole on a conventional skate shoe every time and stick better to your pedals.

The Women's Freerider Shoes have all the style that you want and the bomber sole that you need to land big tricks without blowing your feet. The uppers are made of brushed leather and mesh panels, and the toe box is reinforced to provide added protection if you lose it in mid-air.

First MTB shoe.

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

She has never ridden an MTB specific shoe before, she absolutely loves these. Pink isn't really her thing, but she got over it pretty quick first ride.

Amazing Grip!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

These shoes are stiff enough to pound the pedals all day. Superior Grip makes allows you push the edge of comfort and stay on the pedals!

The BEST bike shoes!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love these shoes! I always wear these when I'm riding flats, either for pedaling or riding downhill. They stick really well to the pedals and let me feel the contact well! Best biking shoes I've had!

The Price is Right

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this shoe is my beginning MTB shoe, and they did not disappoint. The shoes fit me true to size and the rubber soles grip just as they claim. They are great to build confidence on the trails without the commitment of clipless. They are also one of the more affordable riding shoes, especially after looking at the Specialized 2FO which was $130 when I bought the Freeriders. Looking to get a new pair soon!

Good quality for the cost

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

My sister is new to biking and she started out wearing her Nike running shoes. Two rides later she decided she was sick of her feet slipping off of the pedals! I got her these and she loves them! They are cool, comfortable, and have good grip. I strongly recommend these for those looking for a cheaper shoe option.

As far as sizing goes she wears a 6.5 to 7 and went with the 7. She has a skinny foot and they are the perfect size.

Love These Shoes

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 7.5

I usually bike in my running shoes and using clips is not an option for me; I don't like being attached to the bike. These shoes were the answer. The sticky bottoms keep my feet securely on the pedals. I wear a size 7.5 wide and these fit perfectly, with plenty of room in the toe box. Great shoes!

Hooked on Five.Ten

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

After I picked up a pair of the Kestral Pro for myself I grabbed these for my wife as an introductory shoe for her. She loves them! Just enough little pink flair without being too girly. Super grip on the soles for her flat pedals, nice energy transfer with the stiff soles, great shoe. Once she gets comfortable enough and we upgrade her pedals I am sure we will be upgrading with Five.Ten as well.

pricey and pink

  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 7.5

These shoes grip great and i love them for that. They are comfy and get the job done while ridding, I don't see the point in the price or the pink. I bought the pink because it was the only one in my size. Thankfully, its not super bright, but i still don't like pink. Overall they fit true to size and do what they are supposed to do..grab the pedals

Fits good but not perfect

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

I ordered a size 7.5 since that's what I normally get for my running shoes. For dress shoes, I can be 6.5-7. I've had them for about 2 months now and have been still trying to adjust to them. If I wear my regular socks, I feel like they are too big and my feet move around a bit inside them, but then if I lace them tighter, then my toes get numb. If I wear slightly thicker socks, they seem to fit well. But since I will be wearing the less thick socks during the upcoming spring/summer seasons, I feel like they will feel a little loose. But I do love how sticky they are and work great with my flat pedals. They also are pretty stiff, which I guess is how bike shoes are supposed to fit, but they don't feel the most comfortable for my pinky toes since I have wider feet.

DH Delight

Sticky rubber, stiff soles, and stylish colors. Love these, have two pair in the DH-style. The stealth rubber is like having your shoes in clip-less, except you can put your foot down whenever you want. Grips onto the pedals like a dream.

  • Size Bought: 5.5

Super comfy, stiff enough and true to size. I wear a 5.5-6.0 in most shoes, got these in a 5.5 and bam, perfect. Way comfy..paired with the Chester Race Face pedals, solid combo. Sticky with a good grip. Love them, no wonder everyone has these!!!

Shred like you're one with the bike

When I first started riding about three years ago I wore trail running shoes thinking, "meh, who needs those fancy biking shoes? The only difference is that those look rad." However, after talking to a few fellow riders and hearing their thoughts on how these shoes revolutionized their riding, I decided to see if they were good for more than just their rad looks. I have now had mine over a year and have ridden and raced miles and miles in them. I've not had one regret. (my strava records also improved dramatically after purchasing these.) I ride a lot of variety of trail, some downhill, with easy jumps and a lot of rock gardens and some drops. Every once in a while my feet will pop off but it's a rare occasion. (And of course your pedals play a major role in this aspect, we musn't forget.) Even when the need arises to hop off the bike to hike, they still do the job like a pro. Very comfortable, sturdy, durable, yet breathable and not too heavy. My trail running shoes lose in the battle against these five ten freeriders... one hundred percent.

Unanswered Question

How does the fit compare to the Giro Petra? In street shoes and in Keens I wear a 6, but in the Petra I took a 37. So confusing.

Not a pink fan, but the shoes are rad!

Was hesitant to get these over the men's version because of the pink (i hate pink). But I needed to get a new pair as my older men's Freeriders were pretty beat up. I got the Women's pair and these are just like the men's version, which I love! These shoes are perfect for the gal who rides and doesn't want to clip in to their pedals!

Awesome shoes!

I love these shoes. I started off wearing trail running shoes, but I wish I'd worn these from the beginning. They're very grippy, and the soles are stiff. Before, when I rode over rock gardens, or pretty much any bumps, my feet would slip off the pedals, but these always stay in place. I'm still not confident enough to clip in on my mountain bike, but these are definitely the next best thing. They are very comfortable and true to size, with a good size toe box and a narrower heel. they breathe well and don't get hot, which is pretty important to me since I live in south Florida. I suggest to anyone riding flat pedals that they wear mountain bike shoes while riding, it makes a difference! The only thing I don't like is not having anyway to secure the laces, like some of the other ones have, but I usually just tuck them through one of the bottom laces.

I'd like to buy a pair in Size 40 for my daughter. Should I order 7.5, 9 0r 6.5? ie Are the sizes displayed US Mens, US Womens or UK?

Hey Ivan - the sizes displayed are US Women's so you will want a size 9 if your daughter typically wears an EU size 40. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

Love them

I love these shoes! I have been wearing five tens since I started biking and these are my fav. They are super sticky and comfortable, true to size. The color is great, the pink isn't as bright as it looks in the picture, it honestly looks more red in person. I love them, I would buy them again

After wearing regular tennis shoes or trail running shoes for mountain biking for several years, I finally decided to pull the trigger and buy these Five Ten Freerider Shoes. I prefer to ride with flat pedals, and these shoes are the perfect compliment. The soles are very sticky, keeping my feet in place the whole time, without having to clip in. I found the shoes to be very comfortable straight out of the box as well, and the fit was true to size.

Pink? Really?

Can someone pulease inform manufacturers that some females will never wear pink and automatically reject anything that is pink or has pink highlights no matter how good the product? Meanwhile I'll just keeping buying men's shoes and stuff.

These shoes fit so much better than the men's version. You really only see the dark pink on the bottom. I'm not a guy and embrace being female. The shoes are great looking at fit great! I care more about the function than the color.

It is unfair to give a 1 star review based on such an silly reason. Your "review" tells us nothing except that you don't like pink, which is not the type of info I look for when considering a product for myself or as a gift.

Perhaps pink (excuse me, I mean "Berry") accents don't warrant a 1 star review, but I agree with NOgrrrl that I am sooooo over pink and floral accents on women's cycling gear. From reviews I've read elsewhere, it sounds like these shoes have been designed to fit a stereotypical woman's foot, which I applaud. But seriously, Five Ten, it's time to entirely leave the "pink and shrink it" mentality behind! I won't buy this shoe on principle.
