Why We Like The Five Ten Freerider Pro Cycling Shoe
Whether we are hitting the jump lines or just cruising around, having mountain bike-specific shoes makes a huge difference. The Five Ten Freerider Pro Cycling Shoe is one of our top choices when we need a no-nonsense mountain bike shoe that has all the necessary features. An impact-resistant toebox protects our feet from rock strikes, and a molded EVA midsole absorbs energy from hard landings. The synthetic upper is super durable, quick-drying, and abrasion-resistant, and a lace closure ensures we get the perfect fit every time. To stay locked into the pedals, Five Ten used their signature Stealth S1 Dotty rubber outsole to provide us an excellent grip with platform pedals, and a durable rubber compound stands up to the wear and tear of pedal pins. Finally, an Ortholite sock liner and footbed keep us comfortable all ride long.

Good shoe but runs narrow in width.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well made Mountainbike shoes of good quality which perform well . My only issue is they slightly run on the small size especially regarding width . If you order these you would probably order a half or one size larger if you have wide feet.

Okay to walk on pavement all day.
Wore them all day, eight hours of driving and eleven hours of walking around the Las Vegas Strip. My feet weren't super sore. I'm looking forward to using them on a bike.

Tongue doesn't stay in place.
I'm pretty "meh" about this version. I generally like everything about the shoe. It's super grippy and I love the reinforced toe box. However, the tongue doesn't stay in place. In previous models the shoe's tongue had an additional loop at the top to run the laces though. The new models don't. Now, instead of staying in place, it buries itself into the sides causing the fit to change as I ride; typically making the shoe feel loose. It's unsettling and annoying enough, that I am now shopping for a different brand. PLEASE fix this!

Great choice for better grip and protection!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happy with my purchase. These shoes are much more comfortable and supportive than I was expecting. The build quality seems great and seem very durable. I have only had them on a few rides, one of them partly in the rain and they kept my feet protected and dry. The grip to the pedals is exceptional and still comfortable to walk around in. I would highly recommend these over using trainers or skate shoes for mountain biking.
