In 1976, a young man named Francisco Rodrigo decided to make a career switch, abandoning the sublimation workshop he worked at producing fabric for some of the most enduring haute couture brands in the world to follow his cycling passions. The decision resulted in the founding of his own house of fashion — the brand Etxeondo. Named humbly after the small village in the Basque region of Spain where Rodrigo founded it, the brand has flourished with the type of careful attention to detail and quality and high end construction that makes sense when considering the couture background from which Rodrigo came.

To this day, we can still enjoy riding in pieces like the Attaque Bib Short, the defining model of Etxeondo's men's line. It's built with the brand's highest quality materials and most streamlined fit for cyclists who don't want to compromise on either. Still produced in Spain, the Attaque Bib Short is constructed with Etxeondo's proprietary Powersystem fabric, which achieves its contoured but breathable fit courtesy of Lycra Sport elastomer fibers. The addition of Lycra equips the Attaque to consistently hold its shape over miles of riding while providing support to your hardworking muscles. In addition to Powersystem, Etxeondo also uses panels of aerodynamic NeoAir fabric on the main body of the shorts with the goal of reducing their wind resistance, and as with Powersystem, the fabric remains extremely breathable, efficiently drawing moisture away from your skin on hot summer rides.

As Etxeondo's top-end short, the Attaque naturally receives its highest quality chamois, the Carbono, which uses plush multi-density foam arranged strategically to provide you with the support you need without inhibiting your range of motion. The Carbono is also seamless and constructed with breathability in mind, consistently wicking moisture away from your skin as you pedal and resisting odors over time.

Etxeondo shows its attention to modern trends with its adoption of wide, supportive leg bands on the Attaque, which use stretchy elastic to stay in place and lie flat without shifting or bunching. The lightweight bib design follows a similarly contoured fit to the rest of the shorts, remaining light and following your body movements under your jersey, while reflective accents on the rest of the shorts help improve your visibility to other road users.
